Just buy a blood glucose meter and text for yourself. Oatmeal raises my sugar very high. Fat is the only thing that doesn't effect your insulin.
I am prediabetic and I I trying to reverse it I considered vegan low histamine and keto what diet would be the best
Heather drank too much coffee.
what a load of crap
low carb is much better. never overdo the carbs or eliminate some of them. I am vegan fo 20 years. Vegan keto sorted out my weight. You do not have to stay with keto for ever but it will help a1c drop substantially. best get most carbs from vegetable.
What things need a vegan diabetic on each meal on plate ?
I have eaten Quinua and born rice and that shoots my BG high even after 2 hrs. Worriwd about doing vegan.
I am Tyle 2 for 2 years taking one Metformin a day.
Fabulous explained thank you , I’m knew in this
I eat more on vegan diet
You are wrong high carb is a disaster for diabetics I’m a diabetic
no, the best diet would be paleo, or carnivore as there are very few carbs. vegans eat too much starch and carbs. organic meats are not the same as processed meats, so youre propaganda is a lie.
What a strange Q, we are Herbivores, so obviously being Vegan is the best thing a person can do for Diabetes, cos Animals and their secretions cause inflammation, and Intramyocellular( IMCL) both of which inhibit the function of Cells, and greartly weaken the Immune system!. In fact Animal Fats are known to clog up our Insulin Receptors and cause Type2 Diabetes, among many other health
No way! Carnivore diet is best for diabetes.
Rolled oats vs quaker oats?
Ironic I should see this video today. I ate old fashioned oatmeal with an apple and cinnamon included today and i tested my blood glucose level 30 minutes later. I am not a diabetic, I am however interested enough in my health to own a glucose meter. My glucose level 30 minutes after eating this was 211. I conducted the same test yesterday after eating 4 scrambled eggs with cheese, a serving of sardines with mustard and a handful of walnuts. Yes I eat sardines… go ahead and laugh but they are one of the most healthy foods on the planet. Anyway thirty minutes after eating this my glucose was 104. Not sure what this means but it is what it is! You decide.
Of course you can be vegan but how it turns out is the other question. There is no misconception. Veganism is not the holy grail. I wish you people woulnd't ignore how dangerous your sudoscience is.
So my little brother just got diagnosed with Diabetes. And I really wanted him to at least try the vegan diet or vegetarian diet. Because we are Polys and I want to change how we eat. I tried the vegan diet and man it was the best feeling of my life. No pain on my knees or my ankles I actually got the energy that I needed to be up and ready. I actually went from a 4xl to a 2xl just in a month. I walk like 4 or 5 times a week and I keep track of my steps and try to beat the last steps and keep getting more energy. That's what I want for my little brother and for my family and to encourage everyone. Thank you so much for this video I was literally questioning myself how am I gonna do this and your video gave me a huge help. But my little brother wants to try Vegan so that's good.
Would you be able to recommend a book or other source of information on Vegan, Gluten-Free & Diabetic food plans?
Vegan diets are not inappropriate for diabetics type 2., but it’s nit the best diet. Whole food plant based no oil diets are the best and have been shown clinically to slow, stop and even reverse diabetes. A vegan diet permits processed foods, so that’s not ideal for diabetics, in other words a vegan can eat a packet of Oreos, which somebody on a WFPB diet cannot. Hope that helps
Hello Heather! Yes and yes! I am a type 2 diabetic and was able to get off my meds when I transitioned to a vegan plant based lifestyle. In my experience the thing to watch is portion sizes of grains, beans, legumes, bread, quinoa, starchy veggies and dried fruits. Even healthy foods can spike your BG. Always test 2 hours after eating to see how your own body reacts to certain foods, not everyone is the same. Don’t overeat and stick to a meal plan. Never underestimate this condition, you may think that 1 cup of oatmeal or quinoa is healthy but it will spike your BG way up and that can last all day. Follow the Dirty Dozen by Dr McGregor is my best advice. You can’t be a junk food vegan when you have diabetes.
I have been a vegan diabetic type 2 for 12 years. The big thing to watch out for if you are taking metformin is that it leeches iron and B12 from your body. You can take high strength B12 and find vegan sources of iron.
You have several slides that say the source is the "American iabetes Assosciation". Doesn't sound like a legitimate source 😉
Oh Noes!!
Let's be clear, this is about type 2 diabetes, NOT type 1.Type 1 no matter the diet are insulin dependent for life.
I'm learning
Thanks for sharing this, Heather. My bff was prediabetic and insists her Keto diet saves her. I just can’t understand how her eating so much animal fat can be healthy! I am going to share your video on FB.
