I have read that soy products promote prostate cancer? Comments?
What about the sugar from fruit?
He looks like dr berg
Great video, plant based diet is the best for males as we get older to avoid prostate cancer.
I have a fatty liver which I thought was my main concern until I was told I have elevated psa levels and was told to have a biopsy. I now think these may be related and no longer have any refined carbs, dairy products, animal fats from either chicken or beef. I do have Tuna, fruits, nuts, humus and vegetables like broccoli, kale, carrots and celery. I also take supplements like vitamin c, ala, vitamin k3, vitamin D & E and wheat grass every morning. I am 6’ tall and weight 195 which isn’t fat but I guess my internal organs have a different opinion 😁
Thanks so much – I always hear that cancer patients should avoid carbs and sugar but was unaware that it was not for prostate cancer and I'm just knowing that PC reacts to animal products the way some cancers react to sugar
Its not uncommon for sick people to start a plantbased diet .. i ve seen this for 40 years .. it felt wrong being a full herbivore miselve .. bevause i do t want to be right !!!! And it prooves people apparantly do not make most of their choices deliberate … please people ..
I'm plant-strong now for 10+ years. I love living vegan!
Vegan diet you mean… no dairy!
“… Overboard to say someone has to radically alter their diet for the management of these… tumors” really? Is he suggesting we should all wait until we have metastatic disease before we adopt a plant-based diet that might have prevented the cancer in the first place? Going plant-based is not radical, I have done it easily. What is radical is having metastatic cancer. Why not be safe rather than sorry?
Have you seen this clinical trial where they actually saw a decrease in PSA using the Ornish program which includes a whole food plant based diet?:
Intensive lifestyle changes may affect the progression of prostate cancer

When you talk about the effects of fat in the diet and prostate cancer, are you speaking specifically about animal fats?… or are plant based fats included, such as nuts, olive oil, avacados, etc.
I do agree that it can be difficult to change one's diet. I disagree that a vegetarian diet is the way to go. I have had very good results with the keto diet, done very strictly… limiting carbs to 12 grams per day in the beginning and to 20 grams per day later. Now I do the Carnivore diet. I am now over 6 years since diagnosis.
Best of luck to you all!
(a) Are there longitudinal clinical studies, that show that changing from meat-eating diets to non-meat-eating diets, changes the PSA growth path, or any other indicator of prostate cancer severity? (b) Dr. Scholz doesn't distinguish between vegan diets (which eliminate all products of animal origin), and vegetarian diets (which include animal products like milk and eggs). Is there a difference between their outcomes? Does he expect that there's a difference (because of the difference in their amino-acid composition) ? Thanks
All those measures may be beneficial before prostate cancer develops. However, cancer means that there are genetically altered cells in the body. Those cells cease to react to any form of diet, and just continue to grow. They can do so even if oxygen supply will be cut off. Also, they do not need glucose because they can get energy from fat or proteins.
Thanks for the detailed answer.
Dr Scholz is succinct, concise, informative, compassionate and credible. I keep watching not only for the information, but to also just hear him speak.
Dr Scholz, you're really good.. you explain so well. Thank you ..
As someone with advanced prostate cancer ie Royal should I be eating sockeye salmon fillets for the Omega-3? In other words, are ALL animal products to be shunned??
Thanks for all your great videos. I'm wading through them and find them VERY informative.
Hello, please what about eggs, thanks
