Good news, Florida vegans—a new vegan food truck, Plantology, brings vegan food to Gainesville! Joining three other food trucks at the area’s Midpoint Park and Eatery, this 100% plant-based biz serves up house-made cheezy burgers, loaded fries, and mac bowls. The new spot, which opened July 1, plans to offer quality vegan comfort food to the Gainesville crowd.
In addition to providing healthy, organic food options, owner Ryan Strandjord aims to incorporate sustainable business practices in an effort to contribute to a more compassionate planet. Plantology’s eco-friendly practices include offering organic produce—load up on the loaded fries!—with future plans to source as many ingredients as possible from local organic farmers. The all-vegan food truck also utilizes sustainable (either compostable or recyclable) containers and minimizes waste (something the restaurant industry is notorious for) as much as possible. But let’s get back to talking about the food!
In an effort to forward the vegan movement and to encourage more people to try plant-based dishes, Strandjord plans to curate a menu that appeals to vegans and non-vegans alike. As such, you’ll find traditional favorites with a vegan comfort food twist on the menu at Plantology. From the BBQ Sandwich to the Buffalo Ranch Chik’n Sandwich to the Bacun Slaw Mac Bowl (mac ‘n’ cheeze, tempeh bacun, slaw, ranch, and special sauce drizzle), you can indulge to your appetite’s content. Don’t sleep on their Bacun Chedda Loaded Fries (organic fries, chedda, bacun, slaw, ranch, and special sauce) or their Deluxe Burger (vegan burger, cashew chedda, BBQ chick’n, lettuce, tomato, and special sauce on a brioche bun)!
Plantology is located at 931 SW 2nd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601 at Midpoint Park and Eatery. Their hours are 11am-7pm Monday through Saturday. For more information, follow Plantology on Instagram (@plantologyfoods) or check out their website at PlantologyFoods.com.
