If you are short (5”3) or shorter you have to go below 1,200 in order to lose weight—even if you lose at 1lb per week. It should not be a long term plan but a real factor. Thanks for your recipes!

What is your height and current body weight.
OMG! I know this video is super old but the 1200 calorie diet experience you describe is SO MY EXPERIENCE! I lost 150 on a 1200 calorie diet. However, not only did I gain all the weight back plus 20 pounds but during the diet, I went from the occasional cigarette at parties to a daily smoking habit, just because I needed something. I was literally starving to get skinny and cigarettes distracted me from my hunger.
Having quit smoking and become a vegan I lost 40 pounds pretty easily just by eliminating animal products but now my weight loss has stalled so I'm looking into a whole food plant-based diet because I realize being an ambassador for Animal welfare includes caring for myself.
Thank you for these videos, they're super useful so far and thank you for the firm stance on consuming a healthy amount of calories.
Can you please do more videos like this – max weightloss 🙂
I been vegan for 11 months and have only lost 12 pounds☹️☹️☹️
How about if I'm not that active? Should I stay away from high carb?
I was putting all my food into Cronometer, and was eating on average 1800 calories per day. I lost about twenty pounds. Then I realized that I was putting the pasta values in incorrectly. I put 1 cup based on the dry pasta which when cooked is over two cups, where the value in Cronometer was based on the cooked version, which is at least twice as much. So I have been eating on average way over 2000 calories and still losing weight. (Have been eating a lot of pasta, the brown rice kind, with lots of veggies and other whole foods).
Absolutely right. I lost 40 pounds on a 1200 calorie diet and I gained it back and more. I’ve been doing 1800 calories and I feel so much better. I hope to reach my goal weight in a year.
Great comments. So good to hear someone say this.
Is 20% of recommended daily value low? (The sodium content)
i think i’m not eating enough i’ve only eaten 705 calories and it’s 4:35pm??
It's true what Hannah is saying. The day you start eating sufficient calories for your body and make the effort to make healthy meals that you really enjoy eating (really enjoy!) is the day you will finally be on your way to getting the body you want. I wish I knew this when I was younger. I'm 55 now, eat more than I ever have, enjoy every bite of the relatively large and healthy meals I make. I'm never hungry, I never feel week, I always have enough energy to lift weights and do whatever outside activities I love doing. And my body looks better than it ever has.
If you keep on eating these low calorie diets, you might lose the weight temporarily, but it will always come back, and usually you'll end up weighing even a few pounds more. Then 10 years will go by and you'll still be heavy…….then 20 years will go by and you'll still be heavy. I feel strongly that unless you're in a wheel chair, bedridden or such, you should be eating at least 1800 calories. Most healthy women will still lose weight on 1800 calories. It will be a sustainable loss of a few pounds a month. You will be losing fat and keeping your healthy beautiful lean muscle. However if you're lifting weights and your goal is to add muscle to your frame, I have to add that you probably need to eat even 100 to 200 calories more than that so you make sure you're not losing any of your existing muscle. And you need to be getting enough calories to be able to build new muscle.
All three of the recipes look fantastic! Can't wait to make them.
Could you do a 1200 calorie one???
Love your Videos 🙂
Are the servings in these recipes only for one?? I’ve made about three of these meals so far following the ingredient sizes in the description and every meal is huge! I hope I’m not accidentally doubling on calories…
I had to click the like button on Pumpkin Pie Oats!
The comment you made about mood really resonated with me. When i’m on a calorie restricted diet I become very impatient and irritable easily. I just can’t help it! But it’s not fair on my family or my colleagues.
I agree with you Hannah about that 1200 cal diet. I still always felt so hungry and was unable to maintain it. You have to eat enough good whole foods to feel full and exercise!
My doctor told me I have to do 1200 calories diet . I'm not active at all . I would like to try your diet .. but .. I'm diabetic person what about calories ? Would it be sugar ? Have that question .. hope you can help me thanks
Omg if only I saw this 😭😭😭😭 would have loved to meet you. So sad now
ترجمه …ممككن ….😔😔😔😔😔
I love the way you use simple household items to do different things, tortillas in the toaster, burgers in the sandwich press! Brilliant!
Thank you Hannah. I am struggling with my weight and diabetes. My endocrinologist recommended me to become vegan to reverse the diabetes. I appreciate the recipes!
How on earth do you get through all that oatmeal? I can barely manage half!
Been binge watching these videos and I'm so inspired. Thank you for you hard work and inspiration!
