Can Plant Based diet treat Diabetes? Vegan Diet to treat diabetes !

Sir, some say yes.. Take nuts and lentils for diabetic but some cannot. Because like example, if drink soya or have tofu, lentils the night or next day sure have leg pain. The feet hurts at bottom n sometimes difficult to walk. Some suggest avoid taking any kind nuts or lentil form. We r confused tho.
