This one was a doozie of research and in the fray I made a point that is not fully valid. While it wasn't actually a topic mentioned in the BBC article, thanks to you guys I now see that the sex ratio in India is overwhelmingly caused by Male selection. Men are favored so gender screening which is now illegal has played a role in this ratio. That being said, I stand by the point that vegan women aren't going to be having a nutrient deficiency-based lower male birth rate.

The vegan diet probably just attracts dumb people. You have to go against a few hundred thousand years of evolution, science and your own instincts to start.

I’ve never heard the Vegan diet directly affecting intelligence. I have heard, however, from most proponents and so-called authorities of the Vegan diet that it *does shrink the brain.

There is a lot of right wing political pressure from the current UK government to turn the BBC more right wing, this article is the result of that probably, the current bbc chairman is a political appointment, journalists criticising the government are leaving and they are publishing more content to stoke culture wars now …..

While I find the premise of the BBC article unsubstantiated and biased, I am also disappointed with the cattiness of this video. Mic, stick to arguments on the merits, and provide data to make your point. Don't go into personal attacks. And don't veer into accusations of "climate denialism," whatever that means, or "worrisome claims about racial intelligence" and "racism." People can disagree on the interpretation of data without resorting to juvenile insults.

Well don't care about animals – I know it's none of your business as most of us are selfish but let me tell you there is now research coming up that too after a lot of difficult circumstances created by meat industry which will do anything to stop veganism spreading

These researches are clear as how animal protein and dairy is causing health problems especially related to kidney and heart

Protein as such is not that much required as it is portrayed smartly by corporates. Had it been so then nature would make arrangements by incorporating proteins in various vegetables and fruits in adequate quantity. Asian diet has been predominantly been fat and carbs and I don't think they were malnourished.

Listen to nature – if animal is the arrangement God made for your protein needs then why then go ahead eat your nearest dog, catch pigeons, do it all by yourself by staining your hands with blood. I am sure majority of non vegetarians would puke after doing this. However we all love to grow vegetables and it can be done by all. Plants do protect themselves from insects and doesnt exert force on us because it is meant for us. Pluck a tulsi leaf at your home. No harm done. It will grow back. But an animal once gone is gone forever

Also about dairy – do you know human mothers milk has very less protein as compared to cow milk – mother milk has 1.5 percent max protein. If protein was so important than why didnt God himself put protein in mother's milk. So please stop justifying your taste buds. Don't mess with nature with random justification else Nature would be do injustice to you like tsunami and earthquake and would fully justify the same. Learn something from CORONA. Rise above taste

Unsubing because of 5:53. The second tweet is empirical fact, and as of the 3rd is also true. Not so sure about the first.

When you censor the real explanation for racial differences in social measures, you lend credence to dangerous and divisive lies that are used to justify extreme violence and discrimination.

I wonder if the higher male:female ratio in India is skewed. Sons are valued more than daughters in Indian culture and horrible things have happened to baby girls as a result of this favour coupled with poverty. China had/has a similar problem.

I had my 3 year old son as a vegan. He has been vegan since birth and the most popular comment I get about him is how smart and observant he is. I could tell from birth he is much more aware of what's around him than most other children I've seen. I had been vegan for 4 years before his birth and his father is also vegan. When I was pregnant I never had any health issues no low iron or folic acid anything that is common with pregnant women. I highly recommend a vegan diet while pregnant or in any situation

About choline, there are more lacto-vegetarians in India than the entire population of USA, and milk has very low levels of choline (lower than many common vegan foods), but Indian don’t have any brain issues (also India has very low rate of Alzheimer’s disease). India has been a predominantly lacto-vegetarian society for thousands of years, and no brain development issues in India.
