The low carb tortilla ad at the end of the video, I can’t 😂😂😂
Hey, Victoria! I appreciate your perspective but I find all of this disparity in the health vegan/plant-based community to be confusing as to which is the best approach. On the one hand, we’ve got all of these wonderful doctors and dietitians recommending WFPB, low-to-no overt fats and sugars, some with decades of positive health outcomes. On the other, we have this very tiny group of high fruit/carb advocates (basically you, FL and DR)—who look absolutely VIBRANT and amazing, no question—but are still pretty young and have yet to prove this WOE is the most sustainable/life-giving through the test of time…
I guess my question is:
a) how were you so sure when you began eating this way that it was the best approach for the long-term? Surely you received the same or similar education that other health professionals have who have gone the WFPB route. What in your studies did you discover that was different? Also, if there is any literature you can point me to, I’d love to read it! 🤓
b) I am very attracted to your WOE and I did attempt it in the past, with varying results. I felt great, but I got really fat 😕 up until then, I was overweight but never obese. Once I started high carb I gained 20 lbs! Granted, I didn’t do it perfectly, rather “burned the candle at both ends” in that I went vegan at the same time so I was still hung up on the comfort and processed foods. So while I wouldn’t claim that I did pure RT4 because I ate overt fats and processed foods simultaneously, I did experience great health improvements, despite the weight gain. Once I slowed down on the fruit, my weight came down easily but plateaued and has been fluctuating between my pre-vegan weight to close to my highest weight ever since. It’s really frustrating because I’m tired of being chubby but I don’t want to gain even MORE weight than I already have by going high carb again, but also don’t want to calorie restrict. So I just feel really lost 😥 I just don’t understand why it has to be either/or, ya know? Like, either you can’t eat fat or you can’t eat fruit. Isn’t there a happy medium THAT WORKS out there?? 😩😩😩
Sorry this is so long. I’m just really going through it right now, lol 🫠🫠🫠 Any input you may have would be so appreciated 🙏🏼🙂
I'm loving all the content you've been putting out lately!
