I always remember sneaking upstairs to the dressing rooms and hanging about with all the team. Moby had put on a massive spread for all the staff and it was all strictly vegan food. I remember seeing rice and vegetables for as far as the eye could see. I became vegan a few years after, but I always wondered what his staff thought. Where they all sneaking out to the takeaway round the corner for a chips and cheese or did they obey the vegan one? Who knows, but it brings me on to a post I saw yesterday on LinkedIn from Michael Bergson of Glasgows infamous “Bucks Bar”. He mentioned how he wanted to put out a huge thanks to singer Billie Eilish who broke the Buck’s record for the largest takeaway order! Despite her being a strict vegan, she treated all her staff to a take away costing of over £1,000 – what a lucky road crew!
The strict vegan treated her team to 500 wings, buttermilk fried chicken burgers, veggie burgers, vegan burgers and sides of fries and mac ‘n’ cheese.
What a way to treat your staff and how good of her to not be that pushy vegan (it used to be me – and Moby), preaching to everyone not to eat animal products. If people are less pushy about something, people are more inclined to listen.
