Vegan activists vaulted fences near Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour before being tackled by police.
Protesters from the Animal Rebellion campaign group, carrying banners saying “reclaim royal land”, got on to The Mall despite the huge security operation. Some laid down in the path of a military band before being dragged away by police.
The group tweeted: “Animal Rebels disrupt the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations demanding that royal land is reclaimed. This summer we’re taking bigger action against the dairy industry than ever before, and we need you.”
