I find it really hard to believe that gladiators had dad bods 😂😂😂 these guys trained to conquer someone else, they worked out, and they held their weapons up for a long period of time during matches
I need a link for that mortar and pestle
Coconut oil is the new olive oil
Unless you filmed this on New Year's Day, I think you meant to say "Happy New Year" minus the s
I know they didn’t use gloves back then but I feel bad for her hands. They gonna smell like fish for good day or two.
can you do the foods of the warriors, citizens, or royalty of the songhai empire? they are a people often lost to the history books with a very cool history and it would be awesome to learn more!
I was going to ask for any info on Carthage too thanks!
P.S lye might be another one of those penny pinching recipes for housing slave labor long term if you ask me…
I am Spartacus!….cook…
Vikings
Way to many carbohydrates for my taste. I would not consume this.
Sweeping statements, over generalisation and pure misinformation. Well done history channel. Archaeology and common sense , does not indicate gladiators with “dad bods”. The food is correct but they did eat meat when they could. “Vegetarian Gladiators” were not a thing, maybe some were, but meat was more expensive if you lived in the city – not all gladiator schools were in the city of Rome
omar is beautiful.
Many vegan athletes today follow high carb/protein meal plans that are also low in fats. It's perplexing that the gladiators would have 'dad bods' when training 4 days a week on this diet unless they were heavily over consuming calories or adding copious amounts of olive oil or dairy to their meals (like in this video). I myself have lost 25% of my natural body weight following a WFPB low fat diet and eating plenty of oats, rice, and potatoes…
Please do episode on Molichai. My husband makes it and the base could be lamb, beef
or chicken broth. . I like it with lamb.
This is so much like kichari
Has anyone ever seen ancient drawings of gladiators? Actual drawings that were created at the time? Not one drawing have I've ever seen depicts an overweight gladiator. This is just another lie to promote a low carb, high animal fat/protein diet. See if you can find drawings of gladiators that were overweight.
what is she doing, wasting everyone's time? – put the stuff in a blender, pulse, and then cook with water. done. add salt and pepper to taste. gruel.
Have you ever heard of Nasturtium relish? This is mentioned as a part of the diet of Cyrus the Great.
She lost me at fennel….
Dad Bod….the ultimate warrior
Do Sparta
most calcium you get from milk just gets passed through as the body makes it own
Great episode, but 3/4 of the dialogues were pure cringe. Plz stop. And btw I hope you know in italy true ancient garum (not the colatura) is still produced to this day in some places in the south, because how the f is something produced in vietnam closer to the very same garum?
Just to give you guys an intel, because "History" channel doesn't: recipees like this were really common because of their low cost; the ingredients were (and are in south europe) easy to find, grow and preserve due to the mediterranean enviroment
SPARTAN SPARTAN SPARTAN BLACK SOUP
I think she made this up , I don’t think it was looking like this
Love this show and Omar show don’t stop ever I’ve done so many recipes and and workouts I’ve progressed so much.
Those Brussel sprouts give horrible gas
🤤🍑💨🤮
Spartan Diet! Or maybe Olympics Ancient Greece Diet!
carthage would be a great episode causei believe they had very advanced agriculture
Vegan 😂
I love how awkward both of them are lmao
I eating lots of carbs isn’t evidence that they where fat. I eat lots of porridge and bread and I have a six pack. We also know that a gladiators diet varied depending on where they where from. They were eating what was available in their region.
Love this, give us more Sola and more Omar
Oliver T was misquoted. He wanted dessert. "Please sir… I want a S'more".
very cool!
Almost as great of a crossover as Omar x Eric Helms
This is the most amazing crossover of all time tbh.
