Vegan lifestyle guidelines typically ignore several key issues:
heavy reliance on pre-packaged, processed, pesticide & GMO-laiden food products…. and SOY. If you want to boost your Estrogen levels as an athlete, ….yeah. Eat more soy. SMH. And let's not forget all the excess plastics exposure & landfill waste. I'm sure that's not problematic at all. Vegan recommendations often also ignore the horrible processed oils & preservatives in things that come pre-packaged, especially supplements.

You might think that when you work out more on a vegan diet compared to otherwise it could be bias however I think this is an affect of eating plant based everybody notices great recovery times allowing you to work out more often also, this means a one hour workout doesn’t take you out for the whole day

Been vegan 10 yrs and there’s a lot of great tips here.

I like to make a dressing and a huge (~9 lbs) salad for the week. It’s got veggies, beans, nuts and seeds, and kale. Can add grains at the meal to make it a nourish bowl.

On trips, I prepackage my homemade, nutrient-dense oatmeal mix and add some protein powder to it if it’s going to be a long intense day.

Well done guys, I'm a vegan curious and I love the vegan videos (I'm super addicted to GCN). I would like to know what is the protein powder is shown here, I'm interested to try. Tried one before, was not that great so I'm keen to experiment other recommended brand.

STOP WORRYING ABOUT PROTEIN!!! Literally everything you eat on a plant based diet has protein. Only supplement i take is B-12 and I don’t bother with protein since I get way more than I need because I consume enough calories daily. Please stop with this obsession!!

It's a real shame you're plugging the supermarkets who have recently jumped on the vegan bandwagon rather than independent health and wholefood shops who have been championing these products and this lifestyle for years

I did not have problems going vegan. But I transitioned by eating less and less meat some years before. So many great recepies, easy also, on YouTube by vegan chefs, more tasty than meat meals. Just do a little google research. No meat, less animal distress, less unhealthy mass meat and dairy industry, less problems for the environment etc, etc, all by not eating one cow/pig and a few chikens per person a year.

I live on an vegan diet for over 30 years. Iam more of a runner than a cyclist but that doesnt matter for the thing i have to say. Please dont forget to supplement the B12 vitamine. Its the only vitamine you wont find in plant based foods. Going low on this particular vitamin is a disaster for your phisical and mental health. You have enough B12 stored in the liver to last for 3 years after you decided to become vegan. But somewhere you have to ad it to your diet. Only the 3 natural B12 forms( Adenosyl cobalamine, Methylcobalamine and hydroxocobalmine) work for you. The much cheaper cyanocobalamine, which you find in many enriched ricedrinks etc, doenst work. So dig deep in this subject before you are to low.

Thanks for adding vegan topics to the this channel! I've been biking for years, but just started and plant based vegan diet two months ago for health reasons. Although it's only been a short time, I feel great, sleep better and still have strength and energy during training and during the day. Cheers! I start each day with a bowl of Oatmeal. Great and easy way to start the day.
