After two and a half years in business, Portia’s Diner is closing July 31 in Clintonville.
Owner Portia Yiamouyiannis said she was unable to work out a lease agreement with the landlord of her vegan restaurant at 3269 N. High St.
Yiamouyiannis also is the owner of Portia’s Café, at 4428 Indianola Ave., and Clintonville Natural Foods, 4398 Indianola Ave.
“Everything’s supposed to happen the way it happens,” she said.
She said she will serve the diner sub and burger at the café.
Yiamouyiannis said she has purchased a food truck and will work on putting that into motion in the near future.
She said she will take the next year to regroup and decide if she wants to open another diner.
It is to have a few key requirements, like parking, an open kitchen and more attractive landscaping around the store.
