Fudge is a perfect dessert for when you want something not only sweet but also dense and delicious. It only takes a handful of ingredients to make this fudge, but the results are sweet! This decadent dessert is the perfect quick fix for when you’re craving something that’ll satisfy your sweet tooth any time of the day. They also make great party treats!
While this decadent dessert has earned a place in our hearts, fudge is a relatively recent innovation in the dessert world. The word “fudge” existed American lexicon before the actual dessert. When something had gone wrong, it was “fudged,” and so the first batch of fudge was, most likely, made accidentally – and what a happy accident!
Fudge emerged in America in the late 1800s, and after that, its popularity spread like wildfire. Today, fudge is enjoyed around the world by children and adults alike. Traditionally, fudge is made with cream, sugar, and whatever additional flavors the confectioner wishes to add, but (as with everything else) vegan chefs have updated and improved this classic candy.
Whether you like a smooth and creamy fudge or a rich and crumbly one, there’s one thing we can all agree on – fudge is completely amazing. On top of its iconic texture, fudge is a sweet staple because it’s incredibly easy to make and can be surprisingly healthy (if you want it to be)! Feel free to enjoy this recipe on your own on a night in or share it with friends. Either way, you’ll be excited to welcome a vegan version of fudge back into your life.
