Special appreciation to Dr Aluda on YouTube for curing my Herpes virus and HPV with his herbal medications. surgery is not the best option.
If I can't eat a vegan dish at a restaurant, I'll eat a vegetarian dish.
You can stick to a "vegan diet" because it's not a diet it's a moral and ethical principle.
If someone is concerned about ethics towards sentient beings, it is an easy matter to remain vegan.
I slowly eat a large olive or dill pickle. My taste buds no longer want junk or something sweet.
How do you stay on a diet?
You don't have to go on a diet, you have to change your lifestyle. Reorganise your approach to eating so that you no longer want to go back to the old ways that helped you gain weight.
If your lifestyle is all about "having fun, especially eating out" and enjoying a bigger, sweeter meal, then the problem of gaining back the extra pounds is especially pressing – even if you lose weight on a diet, you'll gain it all back in a couple of months.
Create a new way of life, which will revitalise the body, and the diet will be a means to an end, not the goal itself.
And you'll stay slim and fit year after year!
Get therapy, eating at midnight is not normal
I dont have craving anymore
It is possible to have cravings because the body wants nutrients. When I went vegan, I craved spinach and beetroot rather than fatty of sweet things. I suspect it's because I had been deficient in specific nutrients that are found in those specific vegs. There's also pica – a craving for non-foods, often due to mineral deficiencies. I know someone who craved eating plaster off walls – they had a mineral deficiency. I'd read of other such cases.
So the real question is, are you craving comfort food or something that the body recognises as filling nutrient deficiencies. Animals seek out salt licks because they crave certain minerals and instinct leads them to seek out such sources. Why would humans be any different?
BTW, I don't crave any foods now, because my diet is heaps better than it's been for years. The cravings just seem to disappear on a vegan diet, because such a diet provides way more micronutrients than the average Western diet.
I have been on a vegan diet for about six months now. Mostly. I used up some remaining cheese and fish rather than throw out good food. And I promised myself at the beginning that I will NOT force myself to be 100% compliant from the get go, but would allow myself the occasional non-vegan stuff if I'm eating out and there are no vegan options whatsoever. Then I will have fish or eggs rather than starve.
I chose this more relaxed approach because over ten years ago when I tried going vegan, I was very strict and ended up feeling deprived. I could never enjoy treats at work, and it was hard to find vegan friendly shops or restaurants. I ended up quitting because it was that hard to be 100% compliant. I learned from that, and it has made a huge difference to not aim to be PERFECT. Because we humans are not perfect. And circumstances can suddenly change.
Aiming for 95% compliance, I was about 90% vegan compliant at the start, and for the past three months it's been virtually 100%, with just a couple of non-vegan meals. This relaxed approach is the very reason I've been able to keep it going so long, and will continue mostly vegan for the rest of my life. It helps that I haven't told anyone I've gone vegan, so I'm not getting snarky comments or pressure from anyone – either for going vegan OR for "failing" to be 100% vegan.
The bottom line: don't try to be perfect and you won't feel like a total failure when you "fail" to meet a 100% target. This may be a big factor in why so many people drop out altogether – thinking it has to be all or nothing. Allowing some realistic, pragmatic flexibility will make it a lot easier to stay with a mostly vegan diet for the long haul.
What would anyone want to stick with a Vegan diet? Vegans all look older than they are. Sunken eyes etc. Human beings were designed to be omnivores.
Just giving a short and to the point answer. I like to say, " I don't want to come across as disrespecting anyone. I just don't eat meat or dairy." Or I'll have a chat ahead of time before a get together about it.
I stick to my plant based diet because I think about the suffering of animals
Silvia, first you should understand that this family member is trying to sabotage you! Why? Because they are not eating healthy and if they make you break your eating pattern they will feel better about themselves. Next time this happens thell them ‘ last time I ate meat and or dairy I was sick the whole night on the toilet.I cannot do this to myself again. ( even if is not true… anyway your body will have a negative reaction from eating unhealthy). Should she/he insist a peanut allergic child just to try abit of peanut butter sandwich? Make the whole thing that it is of a health issue .
No joke, I eat like a pig but weigh what I did in highschool and am 51 years young. I still juggle and run sometimes. Also ride a unicycle. No I am not a clown. I am a network engineer and I play with microchips and general programming. I also have a hydroponic garden in my basement I need to clean out and get working again. In the meantime I planted 2 sweet potatoes in our mulch bed and they are growing wonderfully.
I've finally got cured from Tinnitus & Herpes virus with the remedy of #drokosodo am so happy all thanks to #drokosodo YouTube channel
As a Southern lady, not having proper food for a guest, and force feeding is unheard of.
Staying vegan for me is easy… loosing 40lbs on the onset, kept it off for 5 yrs and then all the processed foods crept into my life😞and I’ve gained what I lost… Thyroid (hypo)and hormones, scleroderma, raynauds, I’m struggling loosing 😩😩😩
You can stick with it when you become a goat. No problems then.
It's hard to find certain foods without oil.
We did a consult with Dr. Esseltyn over (1) years ago. We see some foods advertised as "healthy" but have all types of oils including palm and loaded with fat.
I've seen vegan "butter" with 10gms of fat.
It's not healthy.
Except for vegan Boca veggies burgers which has very little fat the rest of loaded with fat.
Many people fail because it involves cooking and not everyone is motivated.
If there were more options of pre made food that was healthy would help.
If I did not cook for my husband or for myself he would not be able to manage.
What we do is once in a while we will have a tuna, aslice of pizza or baked/ grilled chicken or turkey.
We eat vegan 95% of the time.
Labwork results for us have shown big improvement.
We try very hard.
Thumbs up.
Great video. I find that people who go vegan for the animals stay vegan. But, if you are going plant-based for your health, this video is a must watch. I have shared it with friends on Facebook. Thank you for providing insights that may help many!
Vegans think they will live longer than any other person. Study shows they die the same and with heart issues as anyone. They eat process oils, being told they are heart-healthy. They eat, processed almond or other non-animal milk and don't understand they are processed. They use dairy, can goods, and frozen foods, because the labels save plant-based or some other healthy labels. Vegans need to understand that processed foods are all processed, they heat the food to a boiling point and destroy all food value because real food goes bad in a few days. Try making homemade nut milk, it goes bad in days. They have to do this because if something goes bad and grows mold they can get suid. The only way to get healthy food is to grow it yourself, and grow sprouts. This is live food and has the minerals and vitamins a body needs. Check this info out for yourself and you will find I am right.
Once you make the moral commitment to being vegan, it becomes quite easy to stick with it. Just remember that fruit is nature's candy!
When you consider that non-whole plant foods, in other words all the crap processed food-like substances, are pushed in our face EVERYWHERE, and in multiple forms, how could we not have cravings! I tell myself: “Sure, you can have anything you want, but look in the fridge first.”
Thanks for this video. It is so informative. Can you recommend a day's worth of healthy recipes?
My mom used to have out of control T2 diabetes. Well, after 4 years on a low fat whole food starch based diet, with fruits and vegetables (and the very occasional egg or fish) I performed a glucose tolerance test on her yesterday. Her highest number was 160mg/dL. That was after 150 grams of PURE glucose syrup cut with water by 50% on an empty stomach. Heck, I'm not diabetic (a1c of 4%) and I peaked at 165mg/dL, after the test. Within 2 hours, my mom's blood sugar level was 80mg/dL, and mine was 77mg/dL within 1 hour.
Carbs do not cause diabetes. In fact, they are the sure for it;)
I could have chocolate, French fries, cheeseburger etc… and I CHOOSE not to… that is my tip.
Skinny "vegan necks" abound!
Dr Gregor says we shouldn't cook tofu in an airfryer… who is right?? So confusing to get contradictory advice
My issue is eggs. When I'm on my period I crave eggs badly. I'm a vegetarian for now, the goal is veganism. As for now I can't afford vegan eggs and also only an online store sells them. Suppliers need to make it more affordable to buy vegan food.
Simple: when you go to the store you don't buy. When are eat at someone's house you politely decline animal products… you may let a little trace ingredients go in the salad dressing or something.. its not hard at all..
Even if you think it's ok to kill (and I do, having swatted countless mosquitos over the years), it's easy to shun animal products for one's diet when it is understood that purchasing those foods supports and implicitly condones horrendous suffering for farmed animals.
The people who stayed on this type of vegan diet ended up like Steve Jobs, Andy Kaufman, Robin Gibb, Linda McCartney, Dr. Henry S. Lodge, Dr. Clive McCay, Mr. Rogers, Nathan Pritikin, Euell Gibbons, Dr. Paavo Airola, Davy Jones. Jay Dinshah, and guess what happened? And this is just the short list.
I surprised Karen made light of intermittent fasting. Fasting for 12 hours is nothing.
To the lady who wants to stop snacking on hummous – if you make your own without oil (so quick and easy) and dip veggies into it that's not so bad.
What helps me stay focused?
. Remembering my most recent lab
work so I can stay healthy and
Improve my markers
. What keeps me from eating pork
cows and chickens and their
products is remembering these
animals from some plants based
videos and how filthy and cruelly
they are raised.
. Also since I have bragged about
the true health benefits of being
plant based I want to show
family it can be done.
. Watching plant based videos
daily. Instead of A/A I have
SAD/A I guess. 😄
. If I see I have started a bad food
habit I try to take corrective
measures.
Another fantastic interview Chuck Carroll. I have been vegan for 6 years and never plan to go back to consuming animals because I don't view it as a diet but a lifestyle ( which means avoiding other products & services outside of food that exploit animals.).
Good audio on the lady thanks but big mike low!
Usually evening hunger is due to not eating enough during the day. If I can’t resist, it’s frozen blueberries or sunflower seeds that have to be shelled. I am actually allergic to the protein in milk, so ppl don’t force dairy on me (cheese seems to be in everything these days!). Some of my vegan friends have told ppl they are allergic to dairy, to stop others from forcing animal products on them. So sad that doctors don’t tell their patients the truth about the benefits of a WFPB diet. Good video…staying true to eating habits is a real problem.
MIGRAINES. I think the "why" is important with any significant lifestyle change. I went WFPB two years ago in hopes of mitigating chronic migraines, about 15-20 a month. Immediately, they reduced to 5-6/month, and my neurologist suggested a CGM to monitor blood sugar although my tests always come back in the normal range (I'm also underweight). I was able to correlate an abnormal insulin sensitivity issue (blood glucose spikes) with those remaining migraines. Once I shifted to lower GI WFPB, I've reduced them to ZERO! No food is better than being pain free!
I forget who said it, but it is basically "having why-power beats willpower". I've been vegetarian/ mostly vegan over a year now. Having a strong reason WHY does beat willpower. There are many reasons to continue not eating meat & dairy. I think staying informed about the related issues such as health, animal cruelty, environment, etc. helps keep motivation stronger than temptations. Also, enjoying yummy WFPB foods helps and I have healthier alternatives when desired, such as SoDelicious frozen bars. I think a cruelty free diet helps one also live a happier, connected with nature lifestyle.
I think craving sometimes means your body's liking something so you're craving it because your body needs it so I always try to look at what I'm craving could I be liking this nutrient or that nutrient anutrient and I try to find a healthy alternative and usually that works but it doesn't always sometimes I just cave in and given to whatever the craving is usually cause it's lasted for days and days and it's not going away so I am once in a while cave in but most of the time I try to figure out what is my body craving not necessarily that food not necessarily chocolate or whatever whatever what does it need is an iron or whatever
The most restrictive diet i’ve ever been on was Atkins. It made me so miserable & left me feeling stuffed yet hungry all the time. WFPB feels like a walk in the park in comparison. Being Asian (chinese indonesian) w/ the heavy use of spices, i usually just either omit the meat or simply sub w/ firm tofu. If the craving for chips got intense, i’d simply get a single serving chips w/ veggie heavy dip. If the cold sweet craving got intense, i’d blend a smoothie bowl. It’s so good and left me feeling great.
