SteelStacks has played host to countless kinds of concerts, festivals, markets and more, so it’s surprising that it hadn’t previously decided to go vegan. However, a new market event is changing that next month.
ArtsQuest announced on Thursday that the first Mercy Vegan Pop-Up Market will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 on the AirProducts Town Square at its Southside Bethlehem campus. The market is in partnership with Animal Defenders Greater Lehigh Valley, a nonprofit working to promote veganism in the community. Tickets for the festival cost $8 for the general public and $5 for ArtsQuest members.
There will be vegan food and crafts abound at the market, including vegan treats from The Bake-A-Re, Butterhead Kitchen and Jenny’s Kuali.
Given that Halloween will be right around the corner, the market will include a little holiday festivity. Market-goers can bring their dog, in costume of course, for a pup parade and costume contest, for a shot at prizes. Participating in the contest costs $19 for the public and $15 for ArtsQuest members, which includes admission to the market.
Tickets are on sale at SteelStacks.org.
