Thanks for watching our new vegan food tour of Tucson. Do you have a favorite place in your city to get vegan food? Leave a comment below and we will check it out next time we are traveling in your area. -Joey
Chef Wendy of Tumerico is AHmazing. Her food tastes so light (even tho she uses oil) because she actually strains the food to get rid of the excess oil. I crave her creations but it’s too dangerous to go too often 😂
Oh my, Guys … We moved to Tucson from IL in 2008 since going vegan 10 years ago we don't eat out. My husband just drove the 1st truckload of our household out of the driveway today headed for our move back to IL and now I see this video. So happy to know but so sad 🙁
Just found your channel. I am incorporating more of a plant based diet so I need ideas for vegan restaurants. I am going to try these in Tucson. I've heard Eclectic Cafe is a good one too. Definitely going to try Tumerico.
Great review on the restaurants Tim and Joey! My husband was born in Tucson but moved to California when he was a baby. I think we need to take a little trip there to check out some of those restaurants. . Those tacos @Tumerico looked amazing and that French toast at the Deli Yum!! Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you get that invite from HCH!
My favorite place for vegan options in Tucson is La Indita. Soooo delicious! They had a great vegan ice cream place called Cashew Cow, too. I just looked them up and they are permanently closed. 😭
Just moved back to Phoenix area from the Pacific Northwest. Looking forward to heading down to Tucson and trying out some of those places. Thanks for the review guys! ❤
My friends and I were at Turmerico on the same day (same menu). I had the carne asada platter. It was so filling and good!! Great reviews! Can't wait to try the other restaurants.
I wish we had as many good vegan, gluten free restaurants here in the valley as they do in Tucson. El Charro Cafe has a great selection of vegan and gf food. They have amazing tamales.
What a wonderful get-away you both had! Joey, see Jackfruit is good! I love my Jackfruit Tuna Salad that my husband and I make. The hotel looked fabulous and the food….OMGosh. I could have eaten everything on the menu. Did any of the restaurants have cookbooks out? Those tacos looked so good I wanted one right now. Did you ask what the ingredients were in the Raspberry Salad Dressing? Did your son stay by himself for the weekend or did he go to your sister’s house Joey? I found when we left for an overnight stay that the boys had people over to stay. 😳 So, we didn’t do that again. Glad you both had fun on your weekend away.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Tumerico! I found out about it from Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network. But that salad dressing is fabulous. Love the jackfruit tacos.
We were dropping our daughter of at U of A. We are at Zemam’s Too. They had some really good vegan meat free dishes. My husband refuses to give up meat so they had meat dishes for him. I highly recommend it. So good!!!

I wish I could have met you down here in Tucson! Next time!
Thank you! We're traveling to several places in Arizona right now, and Tucson is on the list!
I love Tumerico. I cannot believe how many dishes you got through there! We never did hear whether you liked the cactus dish or not. How was it?

Sounds like I need to plan the next getaway adventure in Tucson…😊
Great review of vegan Tuscan options! Thanks!
Sounds like a lot of potential ideas for future Plant Based Dads recipe videos. Either recreating or transforming some of those dishes.
This all looked amazing!

Nopales is cactus! The name said it all. You go Tim for loving some nopales. Not for me- slimy and weird.
Yay my hometown! I love the vegan restaurants here..
If you go back to Tucson I think you'd enjoy Charro Vida. If you're looking for a reuben in Phoenix have you tried Beaut Burger's reuben?

Next time try Govindas and Saffrons.
Wow, that all sounds so good. My husband isn’t vegan and is a picky eater, so I’ll live vicariously through you two. Lol!

The food looked fabulous! We have nothing like that where I live.
Watching this video made me so hungry! Great video.
You guys left full for sure.

have not been to Tucson yet but now excited to eat when we get there thanks for the info
Thanks for the rundown…we live 90 minutes from Tucson and you have given me the desire to run down there for a semi (staycation)…
You’re talking about the coyotes… “Well, they’ll take the shorter one.” 🤣Hysterical Joey!!! (Very short here, too; I can relate.🤣)

I make a vegan tamale using black beans, corn and sweet potato. So far I haven't been able to figure out an oil free tamale masa.
