Thanks for watching! To dig deeper, Simon provided a comprehensive list of studies and resources to support his statements, which you can find on the episode of page of my website under the tab 'References' (near the bottom of the page) here: https://bit.ly/richroll638
at minute 1:30…..But what else does the diet consist of, ? what else is being eaten? Feels like the diet context is not revealed here
Seems like loads of bullshit to me. People used to eat lots and lots of saturated fats throughout history (dairy is nothing new), and yet cardivascular disease seems to have been largely unknown, a new phenomenon of the last few decades. What is new however, are refined inflammatory seeds oils and the rest of the crap we eat today – but not dairy, or meat, or eggs (natural foods God gave us, which provided humanity with nutrition for thousands of years).
Listen to some Ray Peat.
Oil is an ultra-processed product. Good for cars and mechanics, but it doesn't exist in natural biological settings in the food chain.
Ugh…. 12 minutes in and still nothing…
Oh that really explains why we have canine incisors. We are meat eaters always have been. Veganism is a flawed concept. There was no broccoli 10k years ago…still keep taking your supplements.. good luck…
Don't eat fermented foods all the time, it's been linked to stomach cancer due to the high salt content.
“NBCI”
“Cofounders”
These guys aren’t scientists 🤣
You lost me when you started preaching about fighting climate change and 50% of land being used for agriculture. 100 calories animal feed producing 20 calories in eggs or milk and all that nonsense. What about the meat or the manure used to feed your mushrooms. There is no loss of energy on this or earth, as you well know. You must see the problem with your arguments. Deforestation in Texas is primarily a result of land developers – all forests in spring and woodlands are now polluted with apartment buildings!
Careful when you make “big claims”
Simon is very knowledgeable. Thank you.
Well intentioned? How about frenzied because people like you with vegan bias want to prove that eating meat is bad, which impacts thousands … Nah, millions billions of people that eat meat. Keep your broccoli to yourself. My life is my own to manage. Eating meat and fat saved me from the worst 12 year nightmare. Whatever you think you know, is just a belief. For everyone who thinks like you, there are many who have the absolute opposite way of thinking.
How is it that as an ideologist, you only seem to interview people who believe what you want to believe. Why not have a meat based visitor?
Objective? I don't think so.
Random question
I noticed you’re both wearing some kind pf bracelet? What is it?
Simon and rich, you two always rock
Thank u. Phenomenal interview….
Dr. Esselstyn originally did not exclude olive oil. It was after he got calls from a group of heart patients doing his diet in California who all had stubborn angina, and wanted to know what to do. He asked if they were observing his "no oil" rule and they said, "Oh yes, we don't eat any oil at all except heart-healthy olive oil." So he asked them all to stop ALL oils, including olive, and within 3 months' time their angina went away. That's how it happened. So there IS strong evidence against olive oil. Additionally, when Dr. Robert Vogel tested olive oil using the brachial artery tourniquet test, the test showed same results as eating a Big Mac. So happened the Big Mac and the olive oil both had 14 percent saturated fat. 3 tbsp of olive cause arterial failure to dilate for 5-6 hours, same as did the Big Mac. Simon Hill does not seem to know about this, it is important evidence, both in the testing with healthy people, and again in practice with heart patients. Esselstyn does not take things away from people without strong reasons. He didn't take away dairy until Campbell's studies so strongly condemned it, for example. And Vogel's tests are very strong evidence when a food fails them, it's bad, really really bad.
Over 1.1K of comments- Rich you’ll probably never see this … BUT, have you ever had Dr Michael Greger on ur show? HE is a full body, TOTAL HEALTH, RESEARCHER. HE see and reads and KNOWS all the SCIENCE behind oils, and this guy saying oils r ok.. he’s NUTS.
Get a REAL SCIENTIST, Dr Michael Greger on – he says there’s always new science and he reads the new EVIDENCE based double blind research, and DrG says he changes his opinion when the science proves it.
Hope u get Dr G on , he’ll update on this guy & Dr Esselstyn knows his science- this guy irks me – maybe I’ll re-listen to him. He’s not saying anything I don’t know BETTER from DrG and DrEsselstyn ✌️all

Simon said "Sat fat to LDL to CVD
if thats wrong we should
throw out all nutrition science"
well if we read The Clot Thickens
by Dr Malcolm Kendall
who refers in Ch 15 to a study –
378,256 patients in total, analysed over 10 years. It was, if you like, a super-expanded Qrisk3, with almost 50 different factors analysed. The study was called “Can machine-learning improve cardiovascular risk prediction using routine clinical data?” Author Wenger al.
LDL was the 46th risk factor.
🌍 Vegan for life 🍀
Yes it does boil down to “Who do you trust” Simon as a Master of Nutritional science, is the sort of guy one could trust. But so are Valter Luongo and Barry Sears who have varying ideas on what constitutes a heatlthy diet. But as Simon said( excuse that pun) all differ greatly from the SAD that the differences between them are not as important as their difference from the norm.
What a great talk!! I wanted to seat with you guys and just ask millions of questions!! 😂 Thank you! Inspiring…
I’d love to see you speak with Sadhguru- he just finished an 100 mile ‘Save the soil’ campaign
Vegan propaganda Nonsense,
