Being a full fledged vegetarian for about two months, I have to admit it's the healthiest diet.
Yet I don't think the transition is easy.
Going from morbid obesity in Jan 2021 to presently 171 pounds, I had to change over my whole life and realized the diet that one follows easiest to lose the weight is the first but not last step to health.
It's foolish to believe though, that the easiest diet is better than than the healthiest.
Everyday should be self education and minute transition.
Wow cholesterol is an amino acid?
I thought I've heard it all!
I keep hearing defenders of Carnavore and Keto stating the importance of cholesterol, as if vegetarians will lose all cholesterol by not consuming any.
Very hard task …stay strong …you can help people..some just don't want it…until it's to LATE!!!
Anyway, it seems keto diet kinda hits Taiwan and Hong Kong (and I think China too) and pretty much among local Chinese community of Malaysia pretty recently these years which I feel that's really weird while I feel the rest of the world kinda shifting to more plant based, since I'm seeing more and more plant-based or more towards plant-based restaurant and cafe is like blooming after rain around the cities in Malaysia, surprisingly despite the pandemic hits to our Malaysian economy.
I hope the personal trainers would foresee the consequences of the keto diet before doing too much damage to their body after the crash diet for a crash body weight management which most probably it's only about losing their glycogen storage and water rather than their 'ideal dream' of so-called 'fat burning'.
And I also seeing more and more newly diagnosed diabetic patients which really alarming and it has been up on our local news in those Mandarin based local TV news, not sure about other language news though.
Hmmmmmm
Idk how anyone in good conscious can work at "U.S." "news" agency literally harming U.S. spewing this "report". Coverups of reality. Some sell out U.S. for personal gain, yet their duty is to report reality. Personally, if Mc Donald's
did a 180, had only, but many, great oil free plant based menu, even pizza, They could literally save most everyone's health, drugs dropped, mid age & old men would be happy again. Vegan old men are.
Make U.S. Happy Again
The bottom line
If the findings of this new research stand the test of time (and future study), a key question will be: how does a vegetarian diet increase the risk of stroke? Understanding how one’s diet impacts the risk of stroke and other disease will be crucial in future dietary recommendations and other preventive measures and treatments.
Vegetarians and vegans may have an increased risk of stroke
Researchers in the United Kingdom analyzed the risk of stroke and other health problems over two decades among nearly 50,000 people based on the diets they followed. The types of stroke were also analyzed, including bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke) and nonbleeding stroke (ischemic stroke). Compared with meat eaters:
rates of heart disease (such as angina or heart attack) were 13% lower in pescatarians
rates of heart disease were 22% lower in vegetarians
rates of stroke were 20% higher among vegetarians. However, the overall risk was small, equal to three extra cases per 1,000 people over 10 years.
the higher stroke risk among vegetarians was mostly due to hemorrhagic stroke
the higher stroke risk was not observed among pescatarians.
Because of the lack of access vegans have to protein, deficiency is a genuine fear. Vegan sources of protein — like beans, nuts, seeds, plant-based meat products, tofu, chickpeas, lentils, and a wide variety of legumes — are hard to come by.
Vegans are at higher risk of the deficiency in vitamin B12. Deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to certain irreversible side effects. Vegans are advised by the doctors to keep consuming the supplements of vitamin B12 to prevent health conditions such as constipation, fatigue, weakness, anemia and appetite loss.
Being egan is the easiest diet I ever followed. Went Vegan Oct. 2019 and have not fallen off the wagon once. Never going back to eating dead tissue or titty juice ever again.
Yo Mic! Love the show! Can you do a healthiest breads ranked video? That would be sweet.
The diet proven to prevent or reverse heart disease should be #1, hands down!
I do feel like a lot of these diets like the Mediterranean diet are sort of nebulous. Vague ideas of what makes a diet "healthy" are exactly what got us here. So many people think their diet is "healthy" even though the average American's diet is high in processed junk, cholesterol, and unhealthy fats and low in fiber, antioxidents and other plant based micronutrients. When practically anything you eat is said to be "healthy" but some diet or doctor or study somewhere it's easy to think you can eat just about whatever you want and be "healthy"
I'm disappointed they didn't rank the Cheetos Bud Lite diet
Fries and cola is a “vegan diet”, what are they talking about?
My sister's stepson who was a vegetarian eat so many sketchy veg stuff that they're were considering putting him on an oral antidiabetic drug so he went went back to meat and now has high cholesterol. My sister is so happy to have him return to the meat eaters. WTF?
I love my mostly vegan lifestyle. I won't eat meat cuz it would be risky for me but occasionally eat eggs. No cheese cuz I'm lactose intolerant. I don't get bloated like imagine and I eat slowly and never suffer indigestion. I have found so many vegan yumyums that I don't miss meat at all.
I've also family that think they're following a great way with the Mediterranean diet. One glass of wine my ass. Always leads to at least 1 more and more. Then they devour the pasta and bread basket. Bad diet, really bad.
The World Heart Organization just declared no amount of alcohol safe for the heart. It's a toxin pure and simple.
I actually agree with the ranking more or less because vegan does not mean healthy. If they would have evaluated whole food plant based diet, then it definitely would score higher. But some vegans I know and myself included do eat a burger from time to time and chips every week, so guilty as charged. I still believe that vegan diet should have been above WW though 😀
I'm convinced that these diets like WW are calling certain unhealthy foods healthy so that people don't lose weight and still keep paying for memberships/their products
I do plant based whole foods diet with a bit of chicken/fish once a week, no pastas no rice no pizzas nor coke except once a month for a weekend :3
I don't know what's going on with labeling lately but not just food products but everything is not like it used to be you can't always find out what's in things that easily. And since when did they start lifting cholesterol as if it's some type of nutrient
I don't know what's happened to the labeling laws
With the US population sitting at a %40+ obesity rate I’m not surprised having clogged arteries is considered “normal”.
Maybe the wrong platform for me to even comment on even though while I'm on pretty much the opposite end of the diet spectrum I agree with a lot of his criticisms of these kinds of studies. Their minds are seemingly made up before they even start to compare. I personally feel my best on a paleo/primal cyclical keto type diet. There are only a limited number of plant foods that I can eat without serious digestive distress. That said I still enjoy watching his videos. 🤓🍻
Being vegan is easy! I don't get the whole " it's so hard being vegan" Nope.
Maybe because vegans are always saying it's not a diet. I believe they mean diet in the sense of …for weight loss. If you're eating KFC beyond chicken burgers with 60 grams of carbs…thats the opposite of diet food.
This feels like movement in the right direction, but I bet still heavily influenced by industry. And individual biases too, no way a vegan diet is that hard to "follow" compared to the other literal diets that prescribe foods.
Why did I get a keto ad before this video…
Just as a Mediterranean diet can be healthy or unhealthy, so can a vegan diet. I think that for the average person, a Mediterranean diet is the better bet. One is more likely to get the full complement of nutrients, both macro and micro.
I've transitioned to a vegan diet, but it takes scrutiny and work. Most people are not willing to do either.
Well our ancestor like your grandad and grandma lived in better health. Least mine did.
They ate whole food and next to no sugar. They ate grass fed meat and free range chicken eggs as well as the free range chicken. They didn't eat vegetable oils only lard and butter. My grandad lived to almost 90. He grew his own garden. Only had very small amount of alchole. A sip of whisky on very special occasions.
This is a healthy diet.
Since the 1930 or so we have increased omega 6. Omega 6 being the most abundant in vegetable oils. Fried food, breads and package food is very high in this. Now we see that this very fat causes heart disease and a host of other health problems. Now considered more harmful then sugar.
We need more omega 3 which comes from animals. Fish being high in it. Vegetables are good, grains are not. Meat is good for you as it has things that vegetables don't, b12 being very hard to get on a vegetable diet. Also complete proteins are essential as lots of vegetables only have partial proteins.
I don't think any one diet is good. Just a whole food diet, without chemical hormones and pesticides and definitely no sugar and no grains. They are very contaminated with glycophate.
Vegetables and meat are good for you.
Eating only one thing can cause vitamin and mineral deficiency.
And those deficiency don't show them selves until damage is done. Which can takes years and years to manifest.
I know plenty of vegans that swore their diet was the best. Until 25 years later they have health issues that resolved themselves just by eat meat again.
Meat is not bad. The way we grow and manage it is the problem.
And seriously man has been on earth for over 25000 years, and up until this last 50 years ate meat. And would never consider just eating vegetables. If meat was available it was eaten, and stored for times when it wasnt. Storage of vegetables is almost impossible Especially in very warm or very cold climates, so meat was good to always have.
We also fasted as food wasn't always plentiful. That now shows so many bennifits
We all eat way to much now a days.
Just noticed Mic in the trailer for the movie called “Fat Documentary 2,” which seems to promote a meat and dairy diet for optimal health. I’d love to see Mic react to it!!
You are my only GoogleTube subscription. I'm fed up with GoogleTube whores that start their videos begging for subscribers and likes.
I'm still not a Vegan but working on it. My goal at this moment is less than 20 grams of saturated fat(plant and animal). I've given up all oils, cheese and processed foods.
I'm trying microgreens. The cost of non GMO and pesticide free food is crazy. I plan to grow blueberry's, strawberries and carrots on my condo balcony. I can easily grow microgreens indoors year round. Do you have any info on microgreens. If not, will you be researching it any time soon.
I always feel an urge to eat a fatty steak, eggs, cheese after seeing you
Probably the most feminine male ive ever seen.
Oh my goodness Mic
If the contradictions are so countless… it’s obviously not a good reflection of truth.
I would only expect that a main stream media rag would trash REAL Health Promoting Eating Lifestyles for eating styles that Dis-ease in the body. The Sheepeople remain asleep, doing what they are told and their health continues to plummet. It fuels the whole dysfunctional health care and animal product food industries. Billions of $ are spent to indoctrinate a FALSE narrative. DISGUSTING! Once you've experienced the benefits, the TRUTH of living a Vegan lifestyle is self evident.
