As to whether you should follow a diet of meat, or veg, or fruit… why don't you just cut out all processed foods, drinks and sugars and eat a variety of grass fed free range meat alongside organic fruits and vegetables. Eat simple meals. Eat larger, filling meals but eat less often. Give you stomach a break sometimes, it isn't made to be digesting food 24/7, especially processed foods. Avoid any foods or drinks that you haven't made yourself from raw ingredients. Avoid breads and cereals. Just simplify your diet and stop thinking too far into eat. Keep it simple stupid.

If someone tells you that if you activate a gene that can extend your life-span, stop listening to him and run away as far as possible. Human life span is a massively complex, multifactorial process. These proponents of single gene stuff are like those gimmicky diets that never work. Resilient humans have redundancy built into our system and it cannot depend on one gene for life span.
There are tribes that eat 80% carb diet. They are not small by any means and they live long and healthy. Blaming any carb is as scandalous as selling a bottle of resveratrol as life-span extender. Also, making blanket statements like "they are small and they live long," is also misleading.
After watching that story on Resveratrol problems, I find it hard to believe anything this person says.
Most fruits that existed a few thousand years ago were berries. People don't know that many fruits/vegetables are manmade and originate from Cabbage, like Kale, Spinach, etc. Human DNA hasn't changed much in 300,000 years but yet we're told to eat food that didn't even exist and our bodies are rejecting/have allergies to. Fish, Meat, honey, and berries (straw berries, blue berries, etc.) is the proper human diet. Grains, tubers, and certain plant matter are survival foods that can be eaten on occasion, but shouldn't be eaten regularly. Sugar is also very new, only 2,000 years. Our DNA has not caught up to these foods, which is why we have so much cancer now.

Not sustainable and the claim that people in the blue zone eat this goat food is wrong. Here in Sardinia we eat daily pork, lamb, dairy, pecorino cheese and no, not wine!! Mostly beer! We dont eat a vegan diet. The only vegans here are our goats we do slaughter and eat! So stop with this vegan lalaland dream of the blue zones being vegans lol.
I am a vegetarian but have recently added more full fat dairy and eggs which perhaps contradicts Dr. Sinclair's principles. The reason why I am doing this is my LDL is too low and my HDL is too high
Lowest all cause mortality for LDL -C is100-130 for people not on statins in one study. Lowest all cause mortality for HDL ranges from 50 to 73. In terms of LDL to HDL ratio, lowest all cause mortality in one study was from1.6 -2. I am sitting at 1.1 because I have an LDL at 85 and HDL at 77. So for me, trying to raise my LDL and lower my HDL seems like the target strategy.
He looks physically weak
My aunt and uncle were strict vegans, never smoked and only drank occationally. They juice every single day. They died of cancer in their 50s. Nature is playing mind games with us with all these confusion.

As a nutritionist and researcher on the "Blue Zones" of longevity I agree with Dr. Sinclair's final comments about the longest living people on earth.
Ultimately the science shows that of all the blue zones of super longevity globally, only ONE of the eight are actually vegetarian. All the rest eat moderate amounts of meat and fish as part of a wider fruit/veg based whole food/natural diet. This therefore only suggests that animal protein in moderation is the optimal solution. You only need to plug in your diet to Cronometer to see what a total disaster the vegan diet is to give the body a multitude of core nutrients and minerals it needs without substantial supplementation. Sinclair’s current vegetarianism is from the same guy who takes statins and was drinking a Diet Coke every day (may or may not have stopped).
Useful guidance, but I for one will not stop having 3-5 raw eggs daily for high quality, bioavailability proteins, plus things like wild sardines and salmon once a week.

I don't get it, David Sinclair claims that what made his messurements to improve is low protein and low animal fat (he stated that the fat in the meat is also a problem) but then he also says that eating a lot of cheese also made his measurements better. Doesn't cheese contains high protein and high animal fat?

What about raw cheese
Cows milk is not good for humans. We are not baby cows! Lol. The mother cow is pregnant when they are gathering her milk for us to drink soo… we are getting a lot of cow hormones in that milk. They are not good for humans. Studies show it can cause cancer in humans. Plus when the baby cow is born they kill it cause they only want us to drink the cows milk not the baby cow. Sounds crazy but it is true. Do your research. Go to a factory farm and see how cruel they are to animals and you will never want to be responsible for that again.
