You are lovely 😊 ✨
I’m 63 and have finally embraced my 60’s.
Excellent ideas…my favorite “use a small plate” and “ditch the snacks” 💪🏼 ✨
Its true we live in a laptop age now and sit down alot more you see alot of overweight young people let alone older people it hasent always been like that
So refreshing to hear you share basic, simple advice . Thank You 🖐🏾🌹
Your tips are very important and we all appreciate them.
I eat on small plates ,I have diabetes. So I got to watch what I eat anyway. I ride the city bus or I will walk.( I have no car any more)
Thank you for the great tips! I want to mention one thing about exercise related to TV and digital devices. As I played this video on my smart TV, I was cleaning my livingroom while listening. I find I can sneak in other physical tasks while listening rather than just sitting and watching. In situations where I need to carefully watch TV or YouTube videos, I keep some weights beside me so I can use the weights for upper body while watching. I also will use commercials as exercise moments. I’ll tell myself I can watch this show but must do exercises like squats etc. during commercials…or if no commercials, I pause it and do a few minutes of exercises like twists with a curved board etc. every half hour. So it’s not all or nothing.
I agree about the baggy and stretchy pants all the time. I almost went there but decided against it. I am also purchasing button up shirts to be more accountable. I also ditched snacking – best thing I ever did. Now I enjoy my meals more.
OMG your makeup on your lovely face is amazing!! keep it up. Your eyes are a lovely color.
Don't eat carbs! Works 1000% of the time, because your blood sugar will regulate, (even if you are diabetic). No matter what your age…..diets don't work but a way of eating will. I turned carnivore at 62 dropped 40lbs without any exercise. No more joint pain, no more migraines.
Yes, I have to stop wearing baggy tops!
Your suggestions are all things I know but don’t think about regularly. Thank you for your sweet attitude and gentle reminders! I can’t ditch my car as I live 15 miles away from town but I CAN park at the back of the parking lot and walk more. And I just love the small plate suggestion! I plan to go to the thrift stores and find me an elegant china dessert plate! I hope you continue posting – I will be following.
Thanks for the gentle reminders.😊
I have more or less got rid of bread and pastries. I say more or less because I have my 80/20 rule so I can eat anything in the 20 slot. I never used to snack but got into this bad habit in my 40ies! Imagine that! But I did away wwith that by now. I always walked a lot and was active but I moved to a place where I had nothing much to do and I sat all day. These things did a great deal of harm to me. I am exercising now nearly every day, go for walks daily mostly. I eat proper meals possibly home made, and nothing in between. I put on 15 kilos the last four years but I lost 7 kilos in 5 months and I am going to lose 8 more by the end of the one year I gave myself to be my right weight. I have never had a car so that is not a problem for me. I do not drink sof drinks and I gave up cappuccinos because I loved them with loads of sugar. I have not eaten junk food in McDonald's or Burger King for a long while. I am eating healthy and funnily I like it. I eat meat and vegetables and eggs a lot some carbs of choice. I only eat home made cookies in the 80 slot, I do sometimes store cake/ pastry. But all in all I eat little sweets/sugar, because I have been educating myself about sugar and its effects on our body and brain and it is a good deterrent.
i love your tips. very inspiring. you look beautiful. thank you from montreal, Quebec, Canada.
At 72 i went on keto 2 1/2 years I am down 40 pounds playing Pickle ball every day , take no drugs just some supplements, limit carbs to under 50 per day.
I started eating 3 meals a day like when I was a child. Start the day with a glass of water with lemon at about 7am. Breakfast at 9, lunch at 2,dinner at 6-7. Nothing else. I have lost about 30 lbs doing this since a year ago. It is now a habit. I don't really get hungry that much anymore. I don't exercise, but I need to, and have no desire for snacks anymore. I try to eat clean healthy food. I did it for my health, but losing weight was a benefit. I still eat pizza and all the things I like, but only in smaller amounts. I don't deny myself any foods that I like.
Ppp
Please qualify your info on snacks. Diabetics and hypoglycemics need snacks. I have had many scary situations because I don't take snacks with me. Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your video
My tummy like an 8 months pregnant , I haven’t try hard to loose weight after watching this video , I try to do accordingly , I don’t have any sickness just my tummy look like mountain
I haven't owned a car since 2009, and I've been using small plates for several years. I also gave away my last TV, in 2009.
I'm going in for turning the TV off.
I love music so if I hear a good tune I may do a little 💃💃💃
I love dancing. Thanks so much for your tips 😁
Weight Watchers helped me. I’m 74 and bike and do yoga. Ans struggle with mid drift weight…forever!
Thank you! I dumped my TV seven years ago. Have not missed it at all. I've lost 25 pounds with almost no effort. I walk and do a simple workout at home. I'm 78 and very healthy. I take not medications and feel great. Blessing to you.
I started this journey at almost 200 lbs. busting out of size 18 stretch pants. Mens XXL was my bracket. I’m now 138 pounds and not finished. My goal is 125. No cake, no restaurant. You don’t know what you are eating. Ground meat, you have no idea what’s in it! Plus the current state of government is scary. I got chickens to fight famine. BBBE, beef, bacon, butter eggs. Carnivore and lots of water.
Thank you for this video. My wife and I are doing Nutri-System and are impressed with the small amount of food in a real serving. I will buy the small saucers next time I'm out. Great idea
Hello darling the Tips are wonderful,so true the things you mansion. Thank you so much🌹🌹🌹
Sorry salad week is a lot of fun!!!!!! Sometimes I make chicken salad to dollop on the salad of lettuces or greens.
Totally agree with don’t bring it in the home in the first place and avoid eating out. I cut out pizza, munchies and wine. I munch on peanuts or walnuts for a snack. We have salad week in our house. Irs a lot of fun.
Awesome…..it is really inspiring….am coming 60. I never heard someone talked liked that with a lot of sense of humor but true….👍
What a delightful lady you are! Wise and entertaining, too. Thanks for making this video to help the rest of us!
Did you say RUN😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm 64 and started counting carbs in 2014; lost weight. Then about two years ago started tracking sugar too. Of course, also calories. I lost 26 LBs and have kept it off. I also weight train and do fitness walking. The weight has stayed off. I do still eat pizza and foods I love in moderation. I mostly stand instead of sitting when I'm on my computer. I've never been a snacker so that's not a problem for me.
I already do some of your suggestions and I totally agree! One more: find something that you're passionate about, when I am on the creative process or working as a volunteer I never think of food, I believe that these activities bring more joy to life which makes me want to take better care of my body to enjoy them to the fullest
I walk everywhere I also linedance 3 times a week.
Like they say, not everyone is given a chance to grow old, so first thank God for the chance. Love your life, love your body, eat healthy throw in some exercise if your health permits. Enjoy!
I recently bought a new Fitbit. I have found it is a good reminder to stay up and active. It has an eight hour activity cycle and I do try to get everything done in those active eight hours and then I wind down, have a nice dinner and go to bed early. I am feeling pretty good. I have about 10-14 pounds to lose and I am getting there (slowly) but I am in better shape as I am lifting weights several times a week and so I look better.
I gave up butter and most cheeses. I missed them at first, but now it's fine– they were just not 'worth' the calories and saturated fat. That change in diet, over time, helps me control weight.
I disagree with a lot of what you're saying. People aren't going to give up their lifestyles to lose weight. It all comes down to self-control in eating. Stop eating process sugared items. Eat only what has natural sugar in it such as fruits. I cut out a lot of sugar eating, eat small portions, and can lose a pound a day. Don't tell people to change their environment and clothes. Heavier people don't look good in tight clothes. Something more flowing will look more attractive on them. And don''t tell people to throw their car keys away. What kind of a video is this anyway?
I use a small plate but then go back for seconds! 😂
You look wonderful today. I really enjoy your videos and your advice. Thank you!
Im 64, and for the first time in 32 years I'm losing weight. I'm on the carnivore diet and intermittent fasting that I just started August 1, 2022, and already my blood sugar is under control (I might be able to stop the Metformin after the next set of labs), my triglycerides, cholesterol, C-reactive protein are within normal limits, and the doctor lowered my Armor thyroid medication from 2.5 to 2.25. I feel more energy, and the skin is tightening up even though I lost 15 pounds already. I have more energy, I'm sleeping through the night, and my memory is getting better.
I had been walking 3-5 miles daily for the past two years, I already used a small plate for my meals, I gave away my extra large clothes to some missionaries, and I haven't eaten in restaurants for over a decade. Even with those restrictions, I found it was naturally easy to resist temptations. I still wasn't losing weight until the carnivore diet. I know it's not for everyone, but I'm very excited about staying with it because of how everything is working out so well. My grocery bill is drastically down, I hardly have any garbage or recyclables, and my pantry just has spices, and the refrigerator is almost bare except for a lot of jars of bone broth, eggs, butter, and meat of some type. I think I can live this way very comfortably. Oh, I can have pickles, saurkraut, onions, garlic, mushrooms, and cucumber…no root vegetables or condiments.
High heels? Hahaha. Haven’t seen a high heel in decades. You’re so cute.
Helpful tips from someone who's been watching their weight for 60 years!
Avoid Processed Foods Keep to the outer isles in your supermarket…vegetables, meats, dairy, etc. all the non processed food rim the walls of your supermarket.
Don't have tempting food in your home…if you don't have it _you can't eat it! Switch your snacking to fruit, nuts, seeds, vegetables…it's easier than you think.
Keep in mind that the less sugar you eat the less you will crave it…if you can wipe it completely or almost completely from your diet _you will No Longer Crave it! Fact!
Craving sugar? Have a cup of diet or sugar free hot chocolate! You'd be surprised…it's filling and takes away that itch for something sweet!
Don't eat fast food! It doesn't matter what age you are! It's bad and it's addicting!
If you are able…try to walk 20 minutes a day! If you need to build up to that, don't sweat it…the more you walk the more you'll be able to walk! Find a partner to walk with…it's fun and the time flies. Don't want to walk with someone…pull out your earbuds and play some music…music always makes walking more fun!
I'm 70 in 3 weeks and I want to slim down to 80 kg. The next year I plan to get fit again after 2 years in enforced isolation an Cabin Fever. Thanks

Lately, I’ve been late night snacking!
I made a lettuce n dressing salad? Found left over chicken. I cut the meat off the bone. Mixed in with my lettuce n dressing.
And started a satisfactory of tuna fish little of mayo on 1 slice of bread.
Trying to not over eat. Or to snack. But the pains of hunger overrides my ability to “hunt” the cabinets/ frig.
Promise, I haven’t much in cabinet or frig.
Sensible suggestions
