The detailed science is interesting, but couldn't the average, scientifically untrained person tell you we are frugivores if they just had the courage to look? You have to defy a lot of logic and observation to be wondering if we should be eating animal products. I think any plant-based or herbivorous diet always tests slightly healthier for us because it is generally going to be closer to the macro's we are supposed to be eating.

Paleo doesn't include a "truck loads" of meat. This is the biggest misconception.

You'd think someone who talks about a subject would know a subject but even the doctor she quotes knows nothing. The stupid premise that we lived half our lifespan pre-society is such a fallacy I immediately discredit the person saying it. Therefore I couldn't watch past the 3:30 mark. The cheap aggregate using these years incorporates infanticide as well as death from prey. Those who didn't fall victim to these lived our age and much richer. If you'd like to incorporate abortion into our current lifespan you' probably get a much lower number as well. SMH.

The conclusion stated by Dr Brenda Davis that vegan showed a statistics of 70% deficiency in B12 but didn't provide the statistics for others like omnivores, oval-lacto vegans and oval vegans. Is vegan B12 deficiency resulted in the massive diseases as stated by Dr Davis?

If you need supplements to keep healthy it means vegan diet in not natural for humans . Meat and meet organs plus some fruits to get vit c is all human need to be healthy and it is totally natural way of eating , no artificial supplements! , also if you think about it: in the past people would be just unable to be vegans due to inability to find all the veggies and fruits for vitamins body need , the average folk would have not last long as a vegan ….they would get sick very fast and go back to meat . Vegans are full of ignorance and they think we are ment to be vegans but this is rubbish… If we would have nuclear Apocalypse and modern world would go to shit , it is the meat that would be the luxury food everyone would seek . Vegans live in Utopia.

I am a new vegan but I am disappointed by the beginning of this video. I would prefer to hear an intelligent, well spoken Paleo doctor present and defend their studies and logic as opposed to have a vegan talk on their behalf. My experience is that it is rare for anyone, regardless of topic, to truly give the strongest and best argument for their opposition.

The bulk of scientific research points to the superior benefits of being on a whole foods plant based diet. No processed foods and no refined foods. That's why they have a Plant Based Research web site now to continue the focus. The Paleo diet is a high saturated fat diet and leads those who do this toward increase in cancer and heart disease and stroke.

what is worth considerations on a long run for me personally is the impact my way of eating/living puts on this planet , no doubt …vegan/vegetarian diet is way cheaper ,can sustain life even in a poor regions , while heavy meat eating is way more expensive and causes harm to innocent creatures and planet …..its becoming obvious that many vegetarians live long healthy lives so whats the point of eating lots of meat ..? …it should be a special treat if ever not everyday thing eating by pounds literally

i appreciate this debunking of today's "paleo" diet. It's plain stupid to think this store-bought food was what the gatherer/hunters were eating thousands of years ago.

Paleo is a fad diet…not a lifestyle. The majority of foods on a paleo diet didn't even exist during that period. People will believe and buy anything.

Wait a minute. Her argument. People back then didn't live up to 8 decades? Because that diet wasn't suited foe 80 years? They were fine for 40? Then what? They died because of bad food? Or more dangerous situations? ( more ferocious animals when you went out to hunt? )Or social or cultural situations?( they had wars or old people had to leave the tribe?)

I can just see in my mind's eye, Mr Ogg tending the fire while the cauldron of bone broth simmers and the coconut bread bakes, while Mrs Ogg makes the Chocolate Raspberry Paleo Tarts for dessert.

The animal ag industry must run some kind of substandard think tank that tries to rebrand and rename the Atkins diet every decade.

And why on earth the evolution our species experience two and a half million years ago is superior to the evolution our species experienced ten thousand years ago is beyond me.

Actually, no, it isn't. It's down to meat marketing, just like meat-centered diets of every description have always been.
