It's possible to gain a lot of weight eating an oil-free WFPBD. I know because it happened to me. Going vegan isn't the end-all solution to weight control.

I 've been vegan since 2011 and i am 71. Lately, non-vegan seniors always have wise cracks to say about what I bring to eat.

This is terrible news. Has it EVER dawned on any of these people that UNINTENTIONAL weight loss is alarming. I’m 70 years old. I went from 140 to 120 pounds in six months. I look like a skeleton. I was diagnosed with MGUS and have had every blood test available ,as well as urine tests . I freaked out,and started a vegetarian diet. No fats, very ,very little sugar, next to nothing. It’s easily as important as obesity in the extreme . When doctors get their act together they will start addressing UNINTENTIONAL weight loss . I had lost 8 pounds before diagnosed with MGUS, but when I went Vegetarian immediately !
This also goes with my having my two Covid vaccines last April ,that’s when the weight loss began – the first 8 pounds – the other 12 pounds came when I started vegetarian. I’m still strong,I do 60 push-ups a day five times a day , in fact the push-ups are easier because I have very little weight to push up.
    Start talking about this.
I totally agree anxiety is terrible. I live in San Francisco which is now a ghost town. All my close friends have moved ,EVERYONE has left. Under lock down for better part of past 22 months .
I believe your podcast was very good as opposed to most. I’m referring to your speaking about issues outside of just diet. Psychological issues are HUGE …
Hope you get on the UNINTENDED weight loss for older people that were once in great physical condition . By the way I’m 5’7” tall.
    All the best.

It has taken 7 years for my husband to now only eating meat once in a while but dairy and eggs have been out of his life for years, it has definitely been a struggle for him because he feels unpolite when he has to refuse food, when we are visiting others and his parents.

My husband and I, 82 and 79, have very recently (one week almost…lol) started WFPB. I have many issues and a bad back that surgery did not help and only made things worse for me. Esther's experience has been wonderful and gives us much hope to be successful too despite our ages! Thank you for sharing.

Greetings! This is what I need to hear because my doctor told me I needed knee surgery too, but I am 100 pounds over weight and I have to lose it before they can do the surgery. I have decided to go vegan to lose this weight. Started three months ago, so far I dropped 10 pounds, getting there slowly.

I've been attempting vegan gradually at 71, and I already feel so great. I rarely eat meat, but do perhaps once a week (I still have some things in my freezer). The first two weeks were challenging, but so worth it. I would never go back. Can't wait until there's no more meat in my freezer.

I’m 72 and after reading Dr Will Bulsiewicz book I feel I’m educated enough to go vegan… my son is vegan but he eats pizza and junk food and he does not have a good diet as far as I can see… if I go vegan I want to make sure I don’t have deficiencies of any kind.. I will take a vitamin B12 capsule daily…

Ive been 98% LFWFPB for about 8 years. My husband thinks it’s all hype and that my relatively good health in my early 60s is coz I’ve got good genes and he has horrible ones. This view is of course reinforced by the medics. He says that for the vegan movies that there are the people who say the opposite and back up their claims; humanity doesn’t know the truth. Not interested in doing ‘an experiment’ coz the food is horrible and continues to make pointed anti-meat eating comments which he considers humour, as well as tempting me with refined foods. Just as well I enjoy eating this way or I’d have abandoned it years ago. Hang in there ‘loners’, it’s worth it. 🤗
