I could so be vegan and all that, and I want to be, however whenever I eat soy i have a reaction about 2-3 days later where I get itchy eyes and sometimes blepharitis. But I love it and it fills me up, so bummed.

I’m nearing 48 and I (knock on wood) have not found hot flashes to be my main perimenopausal problem in the least and I’ve had (other) symptoms starting since 42. I’ve noticed things ramping up in this past year. I have graves and medically induced hypothyroid and have been told that soy interferes with the synthroid that I take.

    Women only have menopause?
We do not live anymore in binary world.
Please be correct and use neutral pronounce, so "people" instead of "women".

I'm only 34 but I wanted to make sure I did all I could to avoid menopause symptoms. Going plant-based I've been able to reverse my diabetes, gone down 4 pants sizes, lost and kept off 70lbs, no more headaches, mood swings or GI upset! Thank you for sharing this with the world!

I was/am doing WFPB & low fat & low carb diet for 2 decades, but after my hysterectomy I still suffered severe meno symptoms. I began taking Vit E daily and all my symptoms resolved in a few days!

I still struggle with weight loss even on strict OMAD & IF (one meal a day & intermittant fasting). Unfortunately, i cant do any soy, cohosh, or other
    estrogenics per my oncologist.

After 4 weeks of using Dr Madida herbal medicine for my Cold sore, herpes virus and candidiasis, it was cured. That was the reason I decide to let everyone knowΒ  that Dr Madida herbal medicine worked for me in curing my herpes and candidiasis.

I think what he meant to say is you should soak them then roast them… I cooked them first and took forevermore to dry out…

I feel too hot most the time, even from a glass of water. I have some fears about eating tofu as I read that it can cause stones in the kidneys which I have usually, what do you think about it? I noticed some months ago how little oil or fats I was eating and was trying to add more like in my salads, as I am not fat and need lots of energy to ride my bicycle for 30 minutes to an hour to schools. I felt more enrgy from more pasta or noodles. I was wondering what to eat and with not too much preparation. I live in Vietnam. Any advice? I will try this. And I thought that avocados were helping for menopause as I read that.

1.6oz/45g of roasted soyabeans has 11.2g of fat according to MyFitnessPal. I presume this type of fat from soyabeans is OK.

I’ve been whole food plant based for a year and low oil (low or no nut butters, mostly raw), still experiencing menopausal symptoms. Plant based helps but doesn’t address the changes in hormone levels. Sometimes we feel like we’re not doing plant based right because it doesn’t solve all our problems. It helps but it’s not a panacea.

I can't eat soy because it sets my uterine fibroid off really bad. Is there an alternative. ATM I'm eating eggs & cheese because I can't have soy. They don't affect my fibroids. I have chronic fatigue from guillain barre syndrome now menopause I've been hit harder with fatigue and sweating which is uncontrollable. My neurologist went mad at me for being plantbased but I made a good recovery on it but he said I must adhere to omnivore diet but because I stick to plant based as much as I can he refuses to see me. Ended up with fear of nerve damage because of him and I can't have soy. They won't take fibroid out because I'm 54 past child bareing they said hysterectomy which I don't want! The Dr's really messed with my head. Want to be vegan

I'm vegan and have 2 friends also in menopause who are vegan and none of us have hot flashes. We wondered if it was the soy. But to be honest I only eat tofu and that's occasionally.

I am lucky in that here in my country soy products like tempeh, tofu and soy milk are easily available and consumed daily by most people (as opposed to the more expensive meat or chicken)
