Are you planning to host a vegetarian or vegan during your Thanksgiving celebration but are unsure how to prepare?
These local eateries have you covered. Check out our list below of a few Bellingham spots that feature ready-made options to keep the Thanksgiving meal prep stress free.
Cosmo’s Bistro
This eatery at 1151 N. State St. has something for everyone, whether it be meat eaters, vegans or those who are gluten-free.
Their website has an entire Thanksgiving dinner online menu for customers to order and pick up a ready-made, family meal ahead of the holiday.
Cosmo’s has everything from a full five-person dinner to separate sides and desserts. Vegetarians and vegans can enjoy polenta stuffed squash with mushroom gravy or green bean casserole.
Any alternations you need for your dinner can be made in the notes section of your order. You can also make a direct phone call to the Bistro to ask for any changes or substitutions.
Orders come ready with reheat instructions and can be picked up any time between noon and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Community Food Co-op
The Bellingham Co-op, with two locations at 1220 N. Forest St. and 315 Westerly Road, is ripe with Thanksgiving dinner alternatives, whether you’re ordering pre-made food from the deli or going grocery shopping for simple swaps to use in your own cooking.
Their website has a catering menu for in-store pickup up until the day before the holiday. You’ll need to place your order by 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, for pickup before Thanksgiving.
The Co-op features a classic turkey dinner that serves four people. You can also order their vegan holiday loaf along with a number of other vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free sides and desserts.
The store also has an online list of all the plant-based items they sell — including tofurky.
Holly’s Meat Pies
Don’t let the name deceive you. This eatery at 1306 Commercial St. also has vegan options.
You can pre-order and pick up their traditional Holiday Pasty that is stuffed with oven-roasted turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans and yams. They also sell a classic Vegan Veggie Pasty and a Vegan Holiday Pasty, which is stuffed with apple sage Field Roast, stuffing, potatoes, green beans and yams.
All of Holly’s Meat Pies pasties have a full ingredients list online so you can check to make sure they work for any specific dietary needs.
