Have you ever tried using a bean, say white, instead of the nuts in this type of thing? I'd like to do that.

I made my pasta with toasted pine nuts, Peoria’s sunflower seeds. Instead of olive oil used avocado oil.
    Was so good…..

So I was loathe to add nutritional yeast to $5 of basil, $3 of pine nuts and some very nice extra virgin olive oil… but I have great faith in Nisha and… it was so GOOD! I add it every time now. Really wonderful nutty richness without parm. Thank you Nisha.

I just made pesto from the basil leaves I grow on my balcony and i followed you guidelines and it was sooooooo good!! I put parmesan instead of nutritional yeast because I’m not vegan but it was spectacular!!! So much better than any pesto sauce I ever bought! Thank you for this! 🌸🥰

If you add a bit of water when you fine-blend the pine nuts with the lemon and salt they will fluff up and you won't get that runny texture to your pesto. The oil will then blend into the emulsion making a rich thick paste.
