Yes, in the morning, the stomach is empty and carbs can cause a sugar spike way more than any other time of the day.

This is why you can't eat before getting blood work done and then they give you juice to see what happens to the blood sugar on an empty stomach.

Also why "you can't have any pudding until you eat your meat!"

    Thanks for the videos!

Came across your video and loved it and what you had to say. I was wondering if you have any programs or meal plans for a week or 30 days that I can follow?

Thank you! I'm at a similar point in my journey, low glycemic and have to reduce fat. This is very helpful!

I'm sorry for all my comments … I can't edit my original comment because then it won't re-post. I've just finished watching your video. I am wondering if your breakfast issue is related to what you eat for dinner? I noticed that your supper is very light – soup and potatoes. I would definitely feel shaky a few hours after a similar supper. I'm wondering if your evening meal is (a) too light and (b) a bit too high-glycaemic, so when you wake up in the morning, your blood sugar is not stable enough until you eat your protein bowl? Just a thought (and a guess!)…

He goes into this in more detail (c.f. my comment below) in one of his books – either The End of Dieting or Fast Food Genocide. As I can't remember which, maybe you could order these books from your library and have a look? I can't remember if he goes into the caffeine issue. That is more from my own experience but it has proven crucial for me.

My favourite channel atm. Hey could I do this diet with intermittent fasting? (I stumbled on your channel because I needed an alternative to oats breakfasts as oats are a no no with fasting.)

Hi Nele, how are you doing today? I truly hope that you are much better! My breathing keeps making funny noises still and I hope it gets better. I started CoQ10 and planing to take some Rutin soon.

*I am so happy to see the video that you just posted, reason 1 I have the same issues and Blood sugar normally dropped like that in the afternoon hours.
In the morning what I do is as follows:
    I try 1/2 and 1/2 plate method
So lets say one day I will have 1/2 steamed sweet potato with 1/2 mashed unripened banana and 1 brazil nut as well as cinnamon that will be paired with lets say a spinach salad that has 2-3 cut strawberries blueberries and 2-3 blackberries
Most of the time I eat it with lemon juice or balsamic vinegar (what is your thought on vinegars?!)

Then I am fine until lunch which is 3-4 hrs. later
Normally some type of miso soup with vegetables or tofu and this is my only carb that keeps me safe for a bit a type of Japanese lower GI rice.
If however I eat anything high carb or take coffee my blood sugar drops to 80 by 5 pm. and its really hard to put it back up. I have noticed that if I eat 1/2 a banana that will keep my bs okay but it I eat orange which I hardly do that never helps.
Coffee also seem to make me feel this way so I have made the choice to have one lets say only for a special occasion.
Dinner time we normally make one big salad and eat type of curry, or stew, or soup depends on the season. I hope this helps 🙂
I try to do a lot of the Okinawa diet but simplify it.
I do have question, I have high triglycerides doesn't matter what I eat and I am not sure what can lower them anymore, so I have been prescribed vitamin D, Iron and Fish oil supplements but seems when I take vitamin E I feel less dizzy. How can I stop taking chemically produced vitamins and retrain my body to more natural approach?
Also another question what foods are good to eat so that they can make any type of allergies disappear.
    Sending hug, and smile!

    Your friend,
    Nat
