NOTE: I am NOT saying that you will get PROTEIN DEFICIENCY if you eliminate meat from your diet lol. Nor am I advocating for a super high protein diet. I am fully aware that you probably have almost no chance of getting protein deficiency on a vegan diet as long as you are eating enough calories. BUT just because someone doesn't have protein deficiency doesn't mean that they are going to be satisfied with their diet. How many times have you heard a new plant-based eater claiming they are hungry all the time? I hear that complaint ALL THE TIME. Protein helps your body's satiation levels and allows you to feel fuller and more satisfied for a longer period of time. So when you drastically reduce your protein intake, it's probably going to make you feel hungrier even with the same amount of calories. All calories are NOT created equal. In the end, all I'm saying is that it might be a good idea to add in some plant-based proteins into your meals – if you don't wanna use protein powder, that's totally fine. But I find protein powder to be a really easy and quick way to add some protein into my smoothies. There are plenty of whole plant-based foods that are high in protein that will help you feel super satiated for a sustained period of time. That's all I'm saying.
Rose Rose Rose – there IS protein in plants. Calculate your protein on Cronometer. I didn't have protein for years and my Cronometer said I had plenty. There is 1 gm protein in a banana, there is 7-9 gms per 1/2 cup in beans, 6.5 gm in wild rice, 5 gm in steel cut oatmeal, etc. It's everywhere. I still love you videos and I love your sense of humor!
Literally anytime I can hide tofu, lentils, quinoa, or hemp seeds into a meal, I do. When I first went vegetarian, I used a tracker to make sure I was aware of everything I was consuming
Please do a video on tofu! I'm a new vegitarian and I'm on a budget . I've never had tofu and I'm scared to buy it because I don't know if I'll like it
I would definitely watch a tofu video! I love it but it never turns out well when I make it so it'd be helpful to have some better tips than "get the water out" which is most of what the internet has to offer

Chickpeas are my fave! My tummy doesn't seem to like when I eat soy too often so it's a good way to balance things out and get my protein in π
