Vegans deserve Kay’s food
To answer your question in the video: I'm vegan and just do my best to limit the suffering of animals. I used to love the taste of meat, so I sometimes eat the fake stuff to remind me of what I'm missing. I realize a lot of it doesn't taste as good as the real thing but I'm not vegan for the taste (and I don't know a single vegan that is). Never heard of vegans avoiding olive oil, but I applaud anyone who tries to make decisions that are good for the earth and other creatures. ❤
1:50 yea the ingredients in vegan-meats are pretty bad for you. All the additives and things have to be done to it void outweigh most reasons to even eat it.
Looks like something my cat brought up yesterday 🤢
Hey August, ASDA in the UK is Walmart in the US. Kay is cooking Walmart vegan bacon.
I disagree with the impossible whopper take. Its much drier and just slightly and barely noticeably less flavorful.
Aaaaaa-aa-aaa-lmonddddddddddddd
Loving cooking is fine for anyone but when it is close to being almost as bad as typhoid mary then i see hospital patients calling lawyers. This kind of cooking should put anyone in permanent house arrest if not a life without parole sentence in federal prison.
I hear theres a courtroom next to my house(pun intended) (not pun intended):i agree this chef should be arrested and fined and given a permanent parole
ouuhh oohhH ahh Al Oldman Milk
I love you August!
Just some culinary info: the eggs she used are Aqua faba, which is "chickpea water" – like, the water from a can of chickpeas is Aqua faba. It's a great egg replacer in baking or something, but definitely will not work for an omelette.
The impossible burgers/meats aren’t meant to be healthier than meat, rather it’s supposed to be an easy switch from hard core meat eaters to have less of an impact on the environment
I didn't see a problem with the base ingredients that were used (except that if the meat substitute is mostly oil and wheat, that might be a problem, but gluten is a pretty good-tasting meat substitute). I've used almond and other nut milks to make creamy sauces for noodles before. But how you cook it, and what else you put in it, that's what makes the difference. Like almond milk with salt, herbs, garlic, and some kind of vegetables and maybe some kind of vegetarian meat (crispy pork or crispy chicken). Then add instant noodles and let it all thicken together. It would taste better like that.
My guess about the mashed potatoes is that she was thinking about the butter and milk that goes into it, or had a vegan example in mind of a person that maybe tried to eat more whole foods (the hint was when she talked about vegans using olive oil). But if the latter was the case, it would be better not to use processed meats, too. And no, I'm not vegan, but I do like vegan food.
I mean, there's nothing weird about thinking it's weird to consume animal flesh. Especially since we don't catch and kill it when our bare hands and teeth and eat it directly off the dead animal. Don't see how eating humans is any worse. We're part of the "food chain" too. And we should want to protect animals that can't protect themselves.
4:40 to be fair in kays …mind she meant because she usually does the mash with cream/butter
I think the reason why she said mashed potatoes aren't vegan is because there's usually butter in it, tho I'm pretty sure there's plenty of butter substitutes so idk
I don’t like anything vegetarian really but the impossible whopper is better than the original
Fuck me, I got so angry when she couldn't pronounce almond
If you're an aspiring chef and want to incorporate almondmilk into your sauces, I have some simple advice:
don't
The impossible whopper has 1000 times the amount of estrogen. Makes men grow breasts
That almond milk has vanilla in it🧐
Cuz if you're going to mash the potatoes you then have to add butter and milk. Duh
FYI the impossible whopper tastes like a real whopper because they cook it on the same grill as the other meat patties
Butter and milk isn’t vegan can’t believe u didn’t understand that one lol
Chopped the spaghetti, ate it with a spoon.. the fuck…
Mashed potatoes are made with butter and milk or cream, it's not vegan at all.
She IS the spectrum
Going after people’s crappy YouTube projects is pretty cringe. I get really embarrassed for people like this.
al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al am-ugh almand aldmand XD. im also kinda sad for her cuz she propably is so proud of her food and some people thinks its illegal.
I was crying at that intro! 🤣😂😂😂
Mashed potatoes are most often made with milk and/or butter, which is not vegan.
Even Musollini would call that pasta a crime against humanity 🤮
Instant mash in the uk contains milk powder hence why it wouldn't be vegan, although I make vegan mash using plant based butter and oat milk
in relation to her potatoes and vegans, I think she is implying that many people usually put milk and butter in mashed potatoes and vegans do not consume meat or things that come from animals such as milk, eggs, butter and so on.
As a vegan we don't claim her
