People that think and say eating fruit alone makes you fat are speaking from a place of ignorance and clearly have not eaten fruit alone for a long enough period of time to show that is absolutely a false statement. I ate a diet of almost exclusively fruit for 3 months and I lost 40 pounds . It's when you add fat and protein and get excess calories and you start loading up on fruit , then the fat gets stored as fat in your body . The fruit gets burned and quickly passes through . I challenge anyone reading this to eat nothing but bananas for 3 days to a week and drink nothing but water and you will see that after the 3 days you will weigh less than you did before you started .
Excuse me Rebekah and Mike but have either of you researched Douglas Grahams work or taken the time to read his books? I think it's quite ignorant to some degree to only be going off the judgment of freelee and durian when neither of them seem to be that educated on Grahams work nor represent trying to live a healthful lifestyle. They use typical fitness and body gimics as a shock value to gain more viewers and subscribers as this is their business model.
I've read his book and I'm constantly trying to further my education on his work and he speaks about the importance of consuming a multitude of dark leafy greens and particular vegetables that digest well.
cross signals. at first making a distinction with a fruit based vegan & 80 10 10 yet leading this thing pointing out why people fail at this. Let me dictate that no matter what great diet vegan cooked or raw 80 10 10 and all that, if you leave out the greens you will have issues. I don't care who you are. where you come from genetically… leave out the greens… you will have issues!!!!!!!
As someone who went vegan 3 weeks ago, this was incredibly informative. So far I've been just trying to eat a very balanced diet, and this video has reinforced that mentality greatly. Every time I see freely drink a giant pitcher or pure fruit sugar I always think it can't be good long-term or for the majority of people. I actually think it's incredibly irresponsible of her to keep pushing her diet on people, especially since there's so credible evidence for what she's saying.
As a new vegan at 54 and I exercise…………learning and good information on the 80/10/10. I am doing my own vegan eating for 12 months with a plan for my age -body and goals. My plant protein in lentals and beans with moderate carbs and lower intake of fruits.
Very informative and thought provoking. I have a history of gut problems and am now limited in the amount of fruit I can eat due to an overgrowth of yeast in my gut. The side effects have been disabling at times and obviously not just limited to my gut. The systemic reaction has been horrendous. All yeast has been removed from my diet and intrinsic sugars are limited on a daily basis. I know I'm feeling worse but that will pass. There's no short term fix.
Goug Graham did not create 80/10/10 and NO he is not a pioneer of the movement. He wrote a book, that because of marketing got more exposure than other much more relevant books in the movement.. Who actually created (if you want to call it that, I would call it the origin of the idea) was Nathan Pritikin is the one who did the research and has the numbers backed up by data…. Please do your research so we all can be given correct information. (I still like your channel).
oh my gosh i agree i agree i agree. this describes everything ive been thinking and experiencing with the 80/10/10 diet. unsustainable, out of balance, and yes bleh dates are too sweet. i don't like them. id rather have an apple. whenever i try to eat only fruit i get hungry quickly, even if i eat a lot of them. when i each starchy food, it sustains my energy longer and keeps me more in balance.
Rebekah & Mike have much more sense and rational, practical advice/thoughts than Freelee & Durianrider.
It would be nice if we knew what a perfect diet was. I'm thinking more 95 / 5
I didn't even know the term "Pescetarian", but because of the high amounts of B12 , D and Omega 3 Fatty acids in fish (Especially Salmon, Tuna, Clams and oysters) …This is the diet I do feel is most beneficial for human health . ( Krill oil is a good supplement for anyone )
I would limit grains and dairy also …Not because they are so bad… but because one could be consuming better….The more nutritious fruits and vegetables.
{ I advise avoiding all other Fats .Of course avoid refined sugars as well .; Stevia and ".Splenda" are good substitutes }
Why are you eating gmo fruit dummy
what about tooth health on the 80 10 10 diet? and why is this good for human? do we need amino acids or not?
Difficult to get calories with veggies.
If your not afraid of taking b12 supplements, don't worry about it.
The interviewer is not neutral she has an agenda.
Everyone forgets to mention that you are eating about 30-50% of greens and vegetables on 811 (if you follow the guidelines)

His skin looks amazing!! Beautiful Glow!
Check out Doug Lisle's video on evolutionary nutrition and it'll answer any doubts you might have about 80-10-10 and fruitarianism.
I just started this 80/10/10…and i love it…i havent lost muscle mass…i lift heavy everyday but i have became leaner and lost 4 pounds.

Thanks for the video Rebekah. So helpful 🙂
I don't understand why as vegan community we have to compete, or hate other vegans.
Glad I found this channel. Proud subscriber!
I've been 99.98% vegan for almost 8 weeks now, and I feel amazing.
Man douglas graham didnt create anything!!
He needs to update his schooling, there is nothing bad about fruit at all it's good for the body in every way this guy is an idiot
Non hybrid plants like quinoa and plants have SEEDS make superior fuel.
One reason I will never go raw. 1. My zucchini corn noodle pasta is the BEST! (It must be cooked….)
