I made this tonight with my own spins – I added leftover tomato purée and added the rest for more depth:, a knob of ginger, a finger of fresh turmeric, medium curry powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, chilli powder, small shake of cinnamon and nutmeg, black pepper, stock cube instead of salt and lastly as I didn't have moong dal open, I used it's flavour compatriot yellow split peas (cooked separately). I cooked my soup (without lentils/split peas) for a few hours to cook down the tomato (reduce acidity). I also added 1/3 can* of coconut milk to make it creamier. I whizzed some of the "soup" but honestly I loved it as a curry sauce to top rice! Thank you for the inspiration anyway 🙂
🤩♥️💖💛

real comfort food nothing like a delicous bowl of soup on a cold winter's day
Just made this soup Chetna – with a slight variation – I added a tsp of smoked paprika. What a lovely smoky undertone! 😊
Great recipe, thank you ❤
Thank you Chetna for this lovely recipe and creation. I love this soup. The colors combination and brightness. Must be good! 🙏🙌
Thank you !! Hello from france!!
how many degrees Fahrenheit for the bread
Made this yesterday, so good!! Love how the brocolli soaks up all the sauce.
This recipe was so good. Thank you for this one <3
This was very good. As I was enjoying it, it struck me as a soup I’d enjoy if sick with a cold – so I made sure to freeze a batch. Thank you for the effort you put into your recipes and videos.
I just made that soup on this cold, rainy day, and it warms you through and through! Yum!!
Could I use French green lentils?
I’m going to make and serve right now for the dinner 😊❤
probably stupid question… I can only find mung beans, which are green… is that the same thing as mung dal you've been using, which looks yellow… I assume it's the same plant, but that one is older than the other, so is it a meaningful substitute, or would it taste too different, or require completely different preparation?
I am a soup lover as well. Always have some ready in the winter.
ah this recipe come to the perfect timepoints 😍 thank you!!
Just enjoying your delicious soup. Perfect as you say for a grey, rainy day😋
