Any tips on running for beginners Ryan?
Hahah bro looks like there is no fire in you
I love that your consistent with your workouts and realistic! 😊
You know ive watched some of your videos and like your guys mellow style. Its pretty relaxing to watch these vids. Here is a question I am wondering. Are you by any chance Kirk Hammets little brother? I am serious. Or cousin? You look related to him.
Looking good for 47! Thought you were quite a bit younger 🙂
Im all about working out at home. Pilate's, yoga, DVDs and playing with my dogs. Just enough to get my heart rate up and sweat for 20-30 mins. I do enjoy upping the difficulty though so I add in weighted gloves ankle weights to whichever workout I feel like that day.
Would you make a video of your yoga routine? That would be wonderful! I'm just getting into Kundalini yoga.
I have a gym membership–love the weight machines and do some cardio on the machines as well. Â I have a bike and am learning to ride it more–just got it this year. Â I also LOVE do various Denise Austin workouts. Â They are plentiful on Youtube and I did her workouts when I was in my 20s so they are a strong anchor for success. Â Also the workouts are of different lengths and include a ton of variety so it easy to fit in and work out the whole body. Â I also find her to be very positive, but I sure do not follow her diet advice. Â Sad that she likes chicken and fish so much. Â Despite that shortcoming she is an exercise genius.
Get a chin up bar! Pushups and Pullups/chinups are the best upper body combo ever. You will work every muscle in the upper body. Add in squats squats or lunges, you've got the whole body covered in 3 moves. Even if you can only do one or two pullups, you will build up.
Awesome Ryan! Thanks for sharing. Pushups and body weight workouts are great. I LOVE chin ups! I found myself getting really good all around results from starting chin ups. The many variations seem to work just about all muscle groups. No legs of course. But that's easy with running and cycling! Great point on the time restrictions. I would love to bike for hours but a brisk run sometimes seems to be better for the day's productivity! Another great video, thanks!
I like the upper body ideas! I'll definitely try that-do you just do one set of pushups every day until fatigue basically? What time of day do you usually do stuff like running?
lol what do you think of this video from dan EAT LESS ~ BREATHE MORE ~ LIVE LONGER
great motivation for a lazy guy like me 🙂
The first thing I do at 4:48 a.m. In the morning is going into my closet bow my knees before the true living king of the universe in the son's name, asking him to have mercy on me a sinner. Then I go to the bathroom, then suit up an im out of the front door by 6:10 going for my 6.5 mile run. Ps. He really needs a stylist
Sat Nam.
on Work days i do 4sets x 25reps on 55cm ball
As a fellow mid-late forties, high carb, high raw vegan I try to hit all the bases to keep in shape. My weekly workout goals are: cardio (walking some days, running others) every day, yoga (20-30 mins) 4 or 5 times a week, strength/core 2 to 3 times a week and high intensity burst training 2X week. But time is such an issue. I never manage to fit all of that in. Planning to do all of that though, ensures that I do an awful lot more of it than I otherwise would. Will check out "strava". Thanks, Ryan.
I have to get on Strava. I run just about 70miles a week. 2 hour runs a day 6 days. I only do 25 pushups every other day. No weights at all but ice skating season is upon us so I will be doing that also an hour everyday.
Why don't you try pull-ups? Â I think they are probably the single best upper body exercise.
Thanks for sharing. I do yoga, Pilates, strength training , and cardio almost everyday in my room. I definitely understand the need and benefits of a balanced workout .
you gotta practice that intro catch phrase.
I wish I had more time for exercising. After I get home from work there's soo much to do that exercising gets forgotten a lot of the time. I loved doing yoga last winter… but it fell off as of spring this year due to lack of time… I needed the time to get outside and sun, etc. I'm hoping I can get a routine going soon!! I have started up the C25K program again (4 weeks in), but a sore foot has me off for a week… hoping it stops hurting soon lol!!
Thanks for sharing this info. I like to walk and do a set of push ups, chin ups, dips here and there. Painless and quick enough to stay consistent.
