✍️ "DEBUNK" RESPONSE 🥩 https://www.patreon.com/posts/51285771 📑 (PDF) to the youtuber "Earthling Ed" 's attempt at "debunking" this video.
✍️Here is my reply to another one: https://www.patreon.com/posts/50919460 I'll get to the other "debunkings" as I have time.
🌎The discussion with Dr. Mitloehner was immensely helpful but for those of you worried that I'm relying on one source: plenty of research was done before and after our conversation. I double checked all of his points and they are all backed up by research that is not his own. (All sources are in the description.)
🐄This video is talking about conventional beef, not grass fed beef.
🥩There's actually still a ton more to talk about that couldn't fit in this video, how many of you guys would like to see another video expanding on this topic?
[SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL]
What a Video – wow, well done!
rioch people are simply working to make the difference to the working class bigger. there is a reason bugs are promoted to you…there is a reason for inflation. your money will be worth nothing and you will work all day to barely survive on absolute artificial and shitty foods so you die early before you retire. they are simple making modern slavery more efficient
And they want us to eat BUGS!
Just as slavoz zizek says about corporations telling you to do your individual duty to save planet while harming it the most themselves. I wonder if all these channels and influential people like Bill gates promoting going meatless is a way to pave the way for a new billion dollar industry selling you stuff in the name of veganism
Eating less meat won't save the planet, but we will never save the planet without eating less meat
The cows would still need to eat and drink regardless 😂
Just use less land bro, more land for nature.
It seems this video is sponsored by meat industry
I'm really concerned that if scientists don't stamp out the scientism being spread among their ranks and to the layman by self-interested pseudo-philantheopist billionaires and the media, the backlash towards science itself will be cataclysmic.
We've already started to see a significant amount of unrepeatable papers via 'publish or perish', a steep decline in significant discoveries, and the beurocratic choke on research. Scientific institutions need to clean house if humanity is to maintain its post-enlightenment tragectory of discovery.
The video was super interesting and well-done, however some points bug me.
First, food waste and non-human edible food, such as crops bi products, can be put into a methanizer, which produces biogaz, so just because products can't be eaten by humans doesn't mean that they have to be eaten by cows and not be put into great use.
Then, you said that cows are often situated in areas where crops can't be grown, because of various factors, such as the steepness of the place. However, what if the grasslands stopped being used by cows and if we let forest grow back? Idk if the carbon sequestration of a forest is higher than a grassland, but I do think it is preferable to have forests instead of grasslands.
I do agree with all the other points made in the video tho !
brilliant ad at the end still plays but with no audio 😅
I did a research on the topic of energy consumption of types of food. And it's true, Red meat sources require the most ressources including carpon print.
But, some types of plants like Coffee require even more.
Bro is trying to get his channel canceled
Fantastic job my guy. I wish there was a way to show this to the wild but you can bet I'll show it to some agriculture students!
It's insane that these people look at carbon as a currency where you only get to spend so much. It's just an obvious way to control the way people consume by labeling something green or not. Solar panels in total generate more carbon than they offset for most panels. Most panels have to be used for 15 years to offset the "carbon cost" yet most are discarded within 10 years yet solar is considered the holy grail of "green energy."
Great and very informative video. Thank you.
I agree with a lot of what you say. One thing missing in your equation is that methane has a greenhouse effect 5x higher than CO2. Other than that i think your video is really eye opening and exposes the shortcuts some people take too tell a story that fits their narrative.
Eating animals is a barbarian habit that has grown from ancient times where sometimes it was a necessity and it has nothing to do with civilized human of 21st century.
Here comes the savior of the meat believers 🙂
I thought veganism was more about animal cruelty than emissions. At least for some people
I think this video was very informative and put meat and dairy products into a new perspective. But when talking about climate change, I think the loss of habitat that could be reclaimed by nature is not wasted land. Overall great video, especially the conclusion was great!
Also Coca Cola and other simillar companies taking huge amounts of water without getting noticed: 😶
Methane itself is a greenhouse gas. grass converts Co2 into oxygen. By eating grass, cows are consuming something that removes carbon from the atmosphere and are producing a greenhouse gas.
Most livestock isn’t on marginal land though, they’re in factories being fed cereal crops we grow for them. So the land usage argument is void.
Also the Mitloehner guy is funded by the livestock industry, he’s basically a PR rep for them. Pretty clear bias there, to have him speak over most of the video.
Theres a one very powerful word with a big meaning. Americans.
You can't make an entire video with the opinions of one industry-funded "expert" and then call it science. You should be ashamed of yourself for even putting this out.
