Hi there, thanks for the recipe but I'd suggest not adding 3L of water but only 2L. At the end it tasted kinda diltuded. Apart from that it was great. 👍
I literally just finished eating some Tom Yum soup from a nearby restaurant. Although it was good I feel it could be better. Yep if I make my own. I will seek out the galangal and chiminji mushrooms and try to make my own Tom Yum Soup. Thank you
Tom Yum without culantro? I don't think that will taste like Tom Yum. Maybe delicious, but not Tom Yum authentic Thai taste from my limited experience in Thai and in the USA dining on Tom Yum Soup.
i just ordered this from the thai place here. it’s way more complex than i expected and i had no idea what i was experiencing so i looked this up. thanks for the explanation. it’s definitely the galangal that’s giving the new experience.
Canned baby corn? From my experience it is very tasteless and does not add anything to your dish. Prefer roasted fresh corn. Frozen Loose fresh corn is avaible in good supermarkets. Very convenient.
I think since you’re a fellow Asian….it’s only proper that you pay more attention to authenticity. It’s more like you’re showing people to make a watered down version of red curry. We put coconut milk in Tom kha soup, and we put milk or evaporated milk in Tom yum if you want creamy Tom yum. We put chili paste in to color the soup not curry paste. You could put Tom yum inspired soup, cause this is definitely not Tom yum.

I get you must pursue the vegan or vegetarian way, as Tom Yum soup without fish sauce is just not entirely it.

I'll just buy tomnyum paste to make my life easier.
Wish I could put my spoon right through this you tube screen right now to taste that soup
I love the vivid colors, I can taste it ALREADY without even tasting it. Thanks Will. Keep up it up…🕊

It's not Tom yum if you want to have the original Tom yum, the thai recipe I want everyone come to Thailand. Believe me .

Sawadee Kop, My Thai mother in law makes the best Tom Yum! lol
For a boojie-r outcome use heirloom tomatoes. That's funny!!
Looks very hearty. Would love to try it!!! Lucia
Is it Thai TOM YOM SOUP? I don't think so
We do not take out of lemongrass and galangal from the soup.
The lime juice, we do not put it when boiling the soup.
We put it when put in bowl before eating
nice, but that mushrooms will kill me probably. Can we change them ?
