Humans are naturally omnivores. That's why we need macronutrients, vitamins, and micronutrients that come from both plants and animals to be healthy unlike a canine that can thrive on a carnivorous diet, or a ruminant that can get all the necessary nutrients from a vegan diet. A balanced diet is best and swinging too far in either direction eating only plants, or only animals can have deleterious results.
All this pointless bickering of vegan vs carnivore vs keto or whatever I think completely misses the point. Eat a wide variety of nutrient dense whole foods. If you have an autoimmune or inflammation issue (the real cause of cancer and heart disease), try an elimination diet and slowly add things back in to see what caused it. Most of our autoimmune and inflammation issues are not caused by meat or vegetables but by refined, processed foods, especially sugar, white flour, and seed oils. Butter vs olive oil, coconut oil vs avocado oil, tallow vs cold pressed sunflower oil really doesn't matter compared to what heat and chemical extracted corn and soy oil does to people. Sure, whole grains have antinutrients you have to reduce by cooking them right, but once you do that they're fine in moderation. Sure, pork and eggs can elevate your LDL, but that's fine if the rest of your cardiovascular system is healthy because all you're eating is clean meat and vegetables. We've lost sight of the real problem. All these correlation studies prove is that our modern way of consuming these foods exposes us to problems. Think of how much meat is consumed via burger vs grassfed ribeye. How many plant calories are consumed from white flour, soy oil, and antinutrient laden whole grains instead of properly prepared leafy greens and root vegetables.
Thank you for discussing real information and facts.
I really appreciate how you shed light on n the TRUTH brother, I still eat fish and occasionally chicken but sometimes I feel like I should just learn to cook vegan better so I won't even want those things anymore. It's a hard cunedron at times but I definitely abstain from eating any mammals…
I mean heck just looking at the way your video is sourced vs the way his was, I'm inclined to trust you more regardless of the content of the videos lol
And the most unfortunate thing about forcing everyone to eat meat is that there isn't enough meat to go around.
… 'A word from my sponsor… Supplements…😄'
Last name has berg in it?
He also slips in the soy bean estrogenoid bullshit while encouraging people to eat dary wich has checks notes actual fucking estrogen in way higher concentration.
Very informative! I was one of the people who fell for the pro-meat videos. I am going to think twice!
Not gonna lie, from your feminine argumentation, I've got taste for some stewed livers
In 2014 I tried a high protein diet of Organic Yard Eggs (12 per day). about the end of this experiment, I awoke with my heart racing at 400 beats/minute! after several hours and it would not get better, I called my sister asking if she would take me to the hospital. Four hospitals later with zero help I went to my GP who told me Tachycardia required veganism. I had no idea what that was. I asked him if he was a vegan and he said no. But I started that day just to try it. I am forever indebted to him because I'm stronger and feel much better at almost 72 than when I was 16! I'm still amazed. I work hard all day, sleep early and rise early, feel great and not more tachycardia. Try it. It's what we were designed to eat.
You are doing even bigger mistake than your opponent did(and he had some far fetching ideas), by ignoring past, lets say around 1.000.000 years of our species development in favor of maybe 50 years of experimenting with food.
I cant help but notice how often you twist his words around
I was vegan for 12 years. It sux. That’s why most vegans quit.
Healthy animal based foods are way better.
And don’t believe this guy’s stats comparing vegan to typical crap diets. Compare to healthy animal goods.
Choosing a vegan way of life is first and foremost for the animals, and educating yourself so that you do not become nutrient deficient is essential. This is why many vegans do not cave in and return to being carnivore. Animal welfare is at the heart of being vegan and those who can't understand this and advocate meat do not have one.
I think it’s pretty evident that humans are omnivores. I don’t believe that eating meat is harmful in any way. However, that’s not to say all animal products are good. Even a subtle inability to digest lactose can erode at your health. But on the other side, same as animal products, I don’t think all plant foods are good for you either. There’s a lot of plants out there that contain known toxins, yet we put them in our salads or stews. They’ll erode at your health just the same. As far as sustainability, both plants and meat can be done sustainably or unsustainably… and both are.
It’s hard to read any studies these days and not feel like it’s some what hyperbole. People know raised LDL does not cause CVD. It’s becoming more accepted that the cause is inflammation. LDL is needed as it’s how fat soluble vitamins make it to their destinations. Yet every blood evaluation shows recommended less than 99 mg/dl. If you were at 1mg/dl, you would probably not be very well… Most omnivores eat horrible processed foods. Enter inflammation. Even most people with ketogenic lifestyles or vegans, have options available to them which are horrible(ie, highly processed, full of chemicals…). Although most people who have a diet lifestyle are conscientious of their dietary choices, my intuition tells me “Keto people” might be a little more cavalier in their food choices(I have a friend who is doing keto, he only drinks Dr Pepper zero… no water… and eats keto fruit loops nearly every morning. I beg him to drink water all the time. He says there’s water in Dr Pepper. 🤦♂️). Most of these studies aren’t controlled, let alone apples to apples. I’d like to see a study comparing whole food vegans(low plant poison) vs. whole food omnivores(low plant poison)vs. carnivores(keto, no dairy). I’m willing to bet that all of them will be exceptionally heathy. Although omnivores will probably be the happiest and least dogmatic.
Thank you for refuting that sophistical sycophant. Although he does bring up good points, his argument "against veganism" falls flat on its face.
And did you notice how he listed some meat nutrients twice in a row (e.g. phosphorus)?
"Vitaman AAAAA! That was a really bad joke, you can stop watching." NOPE! When you said that, I was convinced I need to watch more of your videos. lol
As a Finnish physician (subspeciality in adolescent medicine), I`m very frustrated how those results of Finnish studies have been presented. You wondered why in study among adults vegans consumed only little berries compared to omnivores. Well, health concious omnivore subjects were chosen at University campus but vegans were picked up through animal rights movement organizations.
Scientist seem to be able to turn white to black and vice versa: "Vegan diet challenges metabolism…" Sure. They were worried about low levels of LDL of vegans (but not worried about hypercholesterolemia of omnivore children) and saw high (=excellent) levels of folate among vegan children as a threat as well. I read the trial plan: All vitamins and essential minerals were tested, but results were published only few of them. Furthermore, retinol adds to higher levels of transtyrenin, which is associated with wild type amyloidosis – from sleep apnea to canalis carpi syndrome and amyloidosis of heart muscle. But no worries?!
The same group – with bunch of conflicts of interests to dairy and food marketing – just came up with a new study. They emphasized the importance of dairy as a source of iodine – but surprisingly also told that iodine exists in dairy because dairy cows are fed with iodine containing feed. And they wisely suggested, that iodine could be added to plant milks. Gladly, they saw the need to rise legume consumption among omnivores. So, something positive is happening after all.
Youre not a true vegan if you buy anything that involves animals. Which unfortunately is impossible to follow. The stuff you buy from companies will support people to live out normal diets. Dong forget, you cant get vitimian b12 without an animal suffering. This is why people should just be vegetarians instead. Vegans just feels like goths too me. They want to be different and have their own space and groups
Vegan is a terrible from a health perspective and also the most expensive, which is why its stupid. Vegeterianism is the best of both worlds but hard to follow. And then regular diets being the easiest to follow.
If you're here, it's probably because you're struggling not to eat your wife's can of salmon on some level. It's not natural, you know you won't stick
It’s a terrible diet it killed my grandmother so I hate Veganism my grandfather is now 105 when he changed to a carnivore diet your such a liar and are destroying people
I question whether a TRUE vegan can revert back to eating flesh/animal products. 'True vegan' being someone who is guided by ethics and compassion regarding the creatures with whom we share this planet. To be that person, the most nobel part of you would need to shrink and darken. Although I am experiencing a wonderful increase in health and energy as a vegan, were the opposite true I still would not go back to being part of the flesh industry, with it horrors and suffering.
