Thank you for bringing this question up. I have seen that doctor on social media too. He puts up MRI’s of people he said were vegans and had high visceral fat. This topic/doctor should be talked about more. I feel like he is the new “beans are bad for you because of lectins” that needs to be debunked.
I suppose it will empty your muscles of 'carbs' and water, but that is not fat and I don't think that approach will scale well over a longer period of time.
Two physicians I followed earlier in the year convinced me to go Keto. Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Annette Bosworth. Those doctors have prominent youtube channels and ardently promote the keto diet, with Dr. Berry going extreme with carnivore. Dr. Bosworth's calling card is encouraging patients to eat a lot of canned sardines and mocking vegetables with the punchline header for a video "Fiber is for farting." Long story short, after on the keto diet for two full months and reducing my carb intake to about 25-50 grams per day and developing constipation, swollen ankles (maybe low potassium as I no longer ate fruits/vegs), I kept educating myself and stumbled upon videos and articles by Dr. Ornish, Dr. McDougall, Dr. Esselsytn, and all the educational videos here by AJ, and I've been pure vegan for three months and find the diet much easier to follow and find cooked and spiced veggies wonderful. I had my first glass of Almond milk and then Soy milk a few weeks ago and am hooked. I never had a weight issue but at my age of 72 I wanted simply eat healthier. My problem now is maintaining my already slim frame, so eating more beans, plant milk, nuts.
Yes ! And it works to thin out on WFPB ! boy it does !!!
Dr.Atkins slipped on ice and hit his head. Yes it was a sudden death but unrelated to his diet
