Once upotln a time i ate a plant based diet and felt seriously so amazing on it. In a weird way this story has made me think i should try that again
I don't know if you'll see this but I just wanted to let you know. I became allergic to dairy about a decade ago. I woke up feeling like I was breathing through a pillow. I went to the ER, they could tell me what's up. Told me I had bronchitis. It turned out it was acid reflux (because of the dairy but we don't know this at that point.) I started Omeprazole and everything got better. Fast forward to 2022. I started getting internal tremors. Couldn't figure out what was going on. Quit dairy when the doctors were telling me it was anxiety. I had had anxiety for a decade at that point, important for later. I was having panic attacks almost daily. Stopped dairy because I noticed the shakes came when I had cheese. Been dairy free for over a year now, my anxiety is zero. My congestion is gone. My almost daily headaches have disappeared. I've had 3 headaches since September 2022. Quit Dairy 9/18/22. I no longer need Omeprazole. Just wanted you to know it gets better. It was a journey but I feel so good now.
I had autoimmune issues years ago and stopped eating meat. They literally disappeared so I would imagine it would work the other way!
Jaime, if you have not already, I implore you to switch from Synthroid to Armour or Nature Throid. It’s more difficult to get, and insurance might not cover without a PA from your GP, but taking Armour or Nature Throid is so crucial. I have Hashimoto’s. I have Endometriosis. I have debilitating chronic pain. I’m currently going through a rough time with my health, but it’s more related to my Endometriosis and the pain I am in all the time.
Vitamin D deficiency is very common among us with Hashimoto’s (autoimmune Hypothyroidism), and it plays such a crucial part in everything, including mental health. I was undiagnosed for at least a decade. I was diagnosed as Bipolar and placed on over a dozen different psych meds. Not one doctor thought to do a proper blood panel. It was my thyroid and vitamin D deficiency. When I finally got diagnosed, I was damn near in a coma and I am serious.
Oh, and my Endometriosis took 25 YEARS to be diagnosed. I was ignored and mocked and gaslit and bullied and treated like shit by countless doctors from the age of 12 to 37.
I’m still pissed and I reckon I always will be. That’s why I try to speak out about my own suffering and how it destroyed my career, my dreams, my body, and even some of my mind. I never want other women to suffer like I have.
Hey Jaime, I appreciate your video! I love how honest and open you were. I have also experienced episodes of "suffocating," not in a dramatic way, but occasionally I'll just find it really hard to breath, like my lungs won't take air, or like I'm not getting enough air and I can't take a deep breath. It isn't like asthma, from what I have read and heard. Who knows, maybe diet? I think the best thing about your experience is that you were constantly checking in with doctors and working with professionals. I'll continue to do the same and be persistent. Thank you for your content, and God bless you and your husband.
Ive been carnivore since March 2023 and keto August 2022-Feb 2023. Guess what…. Lost 32kg, perimenapausal symptoms went away, and anxiety and depression gone!!! No more meds for me. I was sceptical too, but tried it for 10 weeks then was hooked. I’ve never felt so good in my life. Total life changer ❤
Fellow hypothyroid here! The minute you mentioned dry skin and low vitamin D I knew you had hypothyroid.
I’m 4 months into changing my diet (no dairy, gluten, or egg whites) and I feel SO much better. My major inflammation is gone along with my severe low energy.
I was able to bring my T3 and T4 up with taking high dosages of desiccated thyroid.
The cause of my hypothyroidism is the autoimmune disease Hashimoto’s which is when the body attacks the thyroid. IMPORTANT.. anyone who may be suffering with this it is important to get tested for the antibodies as it’s the only way to know if you have Hashimoto’s and most doctors will NOT these you for this unless you ask.
The timeline for carnivore is long. But, it is curative all the way to the end of long. Long depends on a persons age and health. For older people the initial effects are astounding, but the long game is to restore at a cellular level and that takes time. I am 16 months in and love the results so far. This process helps to identifiy other issues such as allergies to specific foods whether plant based or dairy based. Meat generally is not an allergan and therefore is also the best elimination diet. Everytime I add plants, I notice how they affect ny body. Trying Dr O'Meara's ideas with sprinting and adding ferments such as whole fat Kefir. I need lactose free kefir and my skin seems very happy wuth that. Added Sauerkraut as well. But, meat meat meat is my main food.
I was on Ozempic and it never did anything for me. It didn't stop any hunger at all. Nothing. Plus I didn't even have any side effects which I always have side effects. It was like I was on nothing.
Jordan Peterson is famous for his self-help content. Excellent.
Totally with you girl. Planning to go back to hard-core carnivore on nov 1. Maybe dairy has been my problem, too. Gonna not do cheese this time. Not giving up cream and butter. I have a hard time eating a lot of meat fat. So I am more likely to cook lean meats in lots of butter. I don’t understand what people mean by “fat adapted”, but I’m guessing I’m not there.
Carnivore has positively changed my life. I'm literally a different man. My wife has substantial digestive issues when she is not on Carnivore, but she can't get past, "but plants are supposed to be good for you…". If I had stayed an omnivore, I'd still have arthritis and major digestive issues all while not being able to sleep at night qith acid reflux. I may never go back to plants. It sounds like your body has some long term healing to do. Best of luck, great video.
The thing I learned about coach Greg diet was how to eat a high volume of food to keep me full but keep the calories low
Thank you though for explaining the good and bad and being soo honest. Too many people try to sell you on only the good. It’s great to hear both the positives and negatives
I suggest looking into Greg Douchett circle diet. I’ve lost a little over 70 pounds on that diet. Still get to eat carbs. Along with all the other food groups. Basically takes all your favorite foods and lowers the calories and raises the protein. It’s really easy to fallow. I even know what to look for when I go out to eat
Ive never once seen a person truly heal on a plant based, and im an ex vegan, most of them a are orthorexic. Im sorry to hear about your thyroid, i hope with the proper guidance you'll get things straightened out very rapidly.
Try some good lotion (i.e., Cera Ve) and Palmers coconut oil (in the jar), they will alleviate your dry skin.
The depression is being cleared because of the b complex b vitamins in the protein helps with thinking and cognitive ability.
