1/2 cup (120g) vegan yoghurt 1 tsp jerk paste 1 tsp cumin salt to taste 3 tbsp siracha or ketchup
Method:
Begin by preparing the Döner kebab meat. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cumin, thyme, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Slice the smoked or firm tofu into thin strips and place them in a mixing bowl.
Add the Döner spice and oil to the mixing bowl and toss the tofu strips until they are evenly coated.
Marinate the tofu for 30 minutes.
While the tofu is marinating, prepare the garlic sauce. In a small mixing bowl, combine the vegan yoghurt, vegan mayo, vinegar, agave, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.
Next, prepare the spicy sauce. In another small mixing bowl, combine the jerk paste, vegan yoghurt, cumin, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Once hot, add the marinated tofu strips to the pan and fry for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and crispy.
Serve the tofu strips with pita bread, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and the garlic and spicy sauce.
