I think maybe this might work better with more exotic mushroom than these regular button shrooms! Maybe the Portobello, Oyster, Shiitake!!!
No, it never happened in the UK. Everything in my freezer is veggie burger and veggie sausages on the packaging. I agree with you, there is no reason why it shouldn't be called a burger or a sausage. It's the same shape.
Why bother?
When more meat eaters like myself start to try these veggie foods sometimes then I am sure veggie prices go off the roof. Grocery store owners had to get theri million dollars and mansions.
I am thinking adding garlic and onion powder and some soy or tamari sauce too. I need BIG flavour. Looks good!
For real veggies/vegans, careful because Worcestershire sauce has anchovies…
Awe I'm vegan no eggs. I suppose I could use chia seeds instead of the egg.
I just love them!😊 Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Your recipe doesn't say anything about soaking the black beans. If you are soaking the black beans, how long? Thank you
I really only eat veggie burgers – love them so much. I will call them a burger because that’s what they are. I guess if someone wants to call them a “Patty” it’s because someone fed them a veggie burger and they didn’t realize it until after they ate it and loved it. So they were “offended”. They better start labeling burger buns and patty buns in the store so we don’t buy the wrong buns hahaha
In England we will call it lee and Perrins and we know what we mean….Wooster sauce works also. ❤
Oh wow! Thank you! I will now make my own at home, will add ALLLL the fixings, spicy cheese, spinach leaves, tom, onion, pickle, A-1 sauce, mayo, dijon must, toasted buns w/butter, and finally homemade from scratch – steak fries, w/ketchup!!!!!!!!!!! Yum! Yum! Awesome! 🍄🍟🍞
It’s no longer a veggie burger if you put egg in it
You utterly ruined this "veggie burger" with an evil egg. This recipe is useless. We need a vegan world ASAP.
New sub. I like your laid back style. Kinda like cooking with your sister. (I’m twice your age, but I can dream I’m still in my 30s.)
The problem I’ve had with veggie burgers, especially those made with black beans, is the texture. Mushy and falling apart. I think, however, with the addition of bread crumbs and an egg, (can I call this a smashburger meatloaf patty?) they should stay together.
Edit: I just checked the reviews on the actual recipe. Texture doesn’t seem to be a problem.
Anyone try a burger on a toasted king-size English muffin? I discovered this in a pub next door to my apt, back in the ‘80s. Dab of A-1 sauce, and it’s heaven!
I would add to your ingredients some sugar-beet to add some meat colour to the burguers and it tastes good also!
I have so much walnut that I got from the food pantry , I'm definitely going to give it a try , my only problem is I don't eat eggs so well see how that goes 😊
😋
I think I would use the flaxseed instead of the 🥚 egg.
I am really going to try this recipe ❤
Wow, excellent vid. Not a spare word or ingredient. Looks soooo delicious. I can't wait to make them. Totally sold – new subscriber here after this one view. Thank you!
Can I replace the egg ?
Who cares what the euro definition is! BURGER is a pattie, that's it!
I freeze them on a cookie sheet and then bag them. They stay nice and separated in the freezer without paper.
As an Indian with many vegetarians in my family, I can never understand why vegans want burgers to taste like beef.
See when an Omnivore tells me that they like veggie burgers, even with bacon😂, and that this is their favorite burger! I listen.
I am definitely trying these burgers, yeah I said it! I was thinking too of grilling just one big portobello mushroom with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, few drops worshire, bun it with lettuce and tomato and call it one healthy and delicious meal! Thanks for the recipe. Just in time coincidentally because just tonight I had already decided to do away with the "impossible" plant based patty I've been buying because it's loaded with sodium (finally got around to reading all of the nutrition label, not just the zero cholesterol part). So Thanks again for your video😊.
Leo said 'Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication'. These 'patty's prove his theorem.
For not being plant based you came up with a recipe that shocked me!!!
Keep up the great work!!
