It’s easy to overcomplicate what a healthy diet can look like when we’re constantly being told to eliminate almost every food that we enjoy. Instead of focusing on what to restrict, let’s focus on what we can add.
My #1 goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle by helping people make sustainable and realistic changes that are rooted in balance and satisfaction. Contrary to popular belief, dietitians don’t eat a “perfect” diet free of processed foods, non-organic foods, and non-GMO foods – nor do we need to. The goal isn’t to perfect the diet by eliminating all “unhealthy foods”, but to make a healthy lifestyle (a lifestyle that makes you feel happy, energized, and nourished) work for you!
I was figuring out how to be healthy and I had a bowl of cereal and thought that I should stop eating carbs so I looked it up and I saw this vid so I watched it and trued and it was healthier and delicious so thank you
I've been following this advice for the past few days, as well as trying to make sure I have a lunch ready at work. It almost feels like magic how much less often I feel hungry. I've always been a carb loader, so the spike in blood sugar and the little food I get from such high calorie things always keep me hungry and tired.
I've attempted to lose weight and eat better in the past. But last time I just calorie counted. Which can and does work and is a good option for a lot of people. I was able to lose 15 lbs with it. But I would eat a lot of the same bad foods, just less of it, so I'd easily go off track and sometimes just deal with being hungry. And it was a lot of work.
This feels easier and more sustainable. I'll just have to work on finding more healthy foods I can "add" to my diet. It's so nice not feeling like I have to stop or replace my favorite foods altogether.
A healthy breakfast 4 spoonful raw oats soak in a bowl 🥣 with chia seed, raisins figs and flax seed. keep in the refrigerator overnight add in the morning the following low fat milk almonds dates pumpkin seed sunflower seed 👍
This is a good place to start, and you absolutely don’t have to be perfect with a healthy diet. You can have food you enjoy sometimes, but foods that are bad for your health, in the end, are still bad for your health. But adding foods that are better to start is a really good way to not be overwhelmed with a new diet. Ideally you would not eat the cereal though, sadly.
This was a really helpful video. I’ve definitely been conditioned into thinking eating healthier means restricting certain foods/eliminating them completely. I usually feel guilty when I eat. I’m still working on improving my relationship with food and your advice has really helped. 🩷
I like the add not subtract way of thinking. My dietician told me to never eat fruit again. I am a diabetic and the whole never eat this and never eat that again attitude has had me on a roller coaster blood sugar levels for ten years. It is so hard to say, “ I can never ever have that again in my entire life…. But, they also have you in fear of death by food!”

Stop subtracting and start adding ❤️
Questions – Can I soak my nuts and seeds for easier consumption, or does soaking strip them of their nutrients?

Wow… I think differntly now
Adding not subtracting? I'm really loving that mantra.
I need a series on what things to add to cereal. It’s my favorite
Anyone have a list of what she added?
If I don’t like milk is there anything ging else I could use for protein?

Legitimate question I need someone to answer would drinking at least somewhat flavoured milk be like an unhealthy decision?

Me trying to figure out what to add to my taco bell meal with extra tacos and pie for dessert= 🤔😨
All that's going through my head is "Stop! Eat before it gets soggy!🫠"
So maybe add all the other stuff before putting in the cereal and milk?

Adding milk to cereal actually makes it unsatisfying to me. Also, i hate cereal and milk.
