my uncle is over 300 pounds and has to take insulin. One of his feet is somewhat purple. But he is so stubborn, he has bought some whole foods in the past would lose alot of weight but, he would relapse and just go back to eating KFC and other fast foods. Then he would just fall into depression because he was so overweight. I have tried arguing with him about his eating habits but he is just stubborn and I feel like eventually I will lose him sooner than he could live just eating healthier.
How do people feel about the new plant based meat product that is slowly seeping into even the restaurants these days?
I'm trying to get my head around this!!! "the average American eats 200lb of meat a year" 200????? How?
What´s intriguing to me is that I can find the exact same lecture with a keto MD, a carnivore MD and a MD who promotes just a well balanced, eg mediteranian diet and they all also have studies of patients being healed of all evil, became superhuman and stronger, more awake and more energetic and they all come with "and notice, this study is in this and that journal" or "and this patient lived on to be older than the world itself" and they are either low carb, or they are low fat, or they average fat and carbs, but what they all do is cut out crap, stop eating the highly processed stuff or grab a snack every 20 minutes and go for a walk daily. that´s already getting you up to a good level.
There obviously diets that fit this or that disease better, but if you are not already half dead and want it to stay that way, just stay away from snacking, sodas and processed stuff.

I have been working out for a long time, I started in 2004 and I have tried all kinds of diets. I'm here now watching this vlog because I just quit doing keto diet. I've been on a keto diet for a few weeks and I noticed that I didn't lose weight at all. What really worked for me is the calorie deficit diet or fast 800 diet and that is already tried and tested by me. I noticed that on keto diet, my waistline increased. I was on OMAD with intermittent fasting, but it wasn't really effective for me which is quite disappointing. On a low-calorie diet, I could lose weight in an instant and I can easily see the improvement of my weight and waistline in just a week. But on keto diet, my abs disappeared even if I was consistently exercising every day. I just tried the keto diet because I've heard a lot of benefits about it like treating diseases, clearing up the skin, lowering blood sugar level and what I liked the most is, it would make you lose weight EASILY (that's what they claimed) and what happened to me is the opposite, I literally gained weight considering that I was on a strict keto diet with intermittent fasting with a hardcore exercise. When I was on low-calorie diet, my weight was 43 kilos and then it became 49.9 kilos after 5 weeks of doing strict keto diet. I feel so much better when I don't eat fatty foods, I feel lighter. Adding fats on my diet really is against my will but I had to, for the sake of keto diet. But FAT did make me FAT! Before I began doing this type of diet, my waistline was 23 inches and now it's 27 inches and this is mentally draining for me. It sucks big time! Keto Diet is not really for everyone. I also don't like the amount of restrictions on this type of diet, the keto flu, leg cramps and bad breath are outrageous! For active people like me, I really need my carbohydrates! And now that I'm back to low-calorie diet, I feel a lot better knowing that I could eat anything I want without feeling guilty. If you want to lose weight, plant-based/vegan diet is so much better than keto diet.

Medications… and pretty much all in my opinion, are not cures and do not cure. They are just band-aids. They cover up the boo-boos…. may lesson the symptoms but that's about it.

I'm here because I'm a fan and (healthy) vegan trying to work his way to a whole foods plant based diet. One thing that struck me in the video though, to play devil's advocate, is that when showing the pics of the family diets (23:00), none of the families looked particularly fit and all had individuals who could stand to lose a good amount of weight.

I’ve just been inspired to not meat recently and essentially eating a whole plant based diet. Not comfortable with eating sentient beings now. But what’s wrong with eating paleo nutritionally ? Paleo recommends cleanly sourced meats such as non gmo and grass fed etc. It’s pretty much the same as plant based in terms of the wholeness and unprocessed without the brown rice and whole grains to reduce phytic acid. It’s more like a whole food diet including meat. My husband reversed his type II diabetes in a month switching to a paleo diet 7 years ago.
I think WFPB way of eating is a healthy way of eating. But if you google WFPB for it's definition you can eat some meat and still call yourself a WFPB eater. So it is more accurate to say WFPB vegan if you don't eat meat or animal products on a WFPB .
This is a very good video, but why does he say wfpb is not just another form of veganism? Isn't the definition of a vegan diet mean someone who doesn't eat meat?
I think his comparison of vegan diet and plantbased whole food diet is inaccurate. while vegans eat more processed food, most don't eat this way.
when he shows examples of a vegan diet that is a junk food vegan . I know alot of vegans who are vegan and don't eat like that.
Very interesting video, but I'd have two questions?
1) Why should we avoid oil? Do you mean fry oil? Or olive oil to put in the mixed salad as well? As far I am concerned, olive oli is good for health if put raw on food?
2) B12 vitamin should be taken by pills then right? Vegetables food don't contain it but it is extremely important for our body. Thanks in advance whoever will reply.

This seems to be a flowery presentation without substance. We need to know scientifically how and why a plant based food is good. How does it reverse the diseases. We have to be convinced but sorry the speech only highlighted on the results but not on how it happens. I wish to convert but not convinced.
