I feel like I just need something to help boost my metabolism. I’m trying to do low carb high fat/ high carb low fat days and switching to hiit instead of focusing on cardio, but wondering if there’s a supplement that will help. I heard my friend used a brand called Vanguard Formulas and made her lose weight pretty fast. Anyone used it before? Anyways, I definitely need to work on my sleep too cause quarantine is kicking my butt. Without work my insomnia creeps back in.
What are the biggest challenges you face while trying to lose weight and gain fitness?
I started the Starch Solution back on 11/15. I have not bought the book but what I have learned on this channel. I am losing the weight, have regular bowl movements. The only side effect I am experiencing is having loud stinky farts. My question is, will it take time for my body to adjust to the new way of eating and that will go away or will this just have to be something I have to deal with? Does anyone else experience this?

I’m just starting the 50:50 whole foods, plants based lifestyle change today. Do you drink on occasion, or do you think this would hinder weight loss in the initial stages? Relatively new sub, but don’t think I recall hearing you talk about it in your vids. Congrats btw!!

I soooo relate to this video. I was never overweight until my mid-late 30s. I found a nutritionist who put me on a high fat, high protein, low carb diet. As a result, I lost 56lbs and was at 126lbs , but my cholesterol was through the roof. Funny thing is, eating red meat was something I really did not do prior to meeting with this nutritionist. Even as a child, my parents bought meat and cooked it with almost every meal, but my choice had always been to pass on the meat. About 5 years ago, I suddenly developed an inner ear issue where I was dizzy every single minute of my day. It took 3 years to get diagnosed and 1 year of working with a vestibular therapist to recover. During those 4-5 years I gained all of the 56lbs I had lost AND MORE! I recently read the McDougall Starch book, and for about 1 month now, have consistently been following a plant based diet, but like, you, I went crazy with pasta and breads (even if they were "healthier" options). But, I definitely have a LOT of weight to lose now I am pushing 70lbs to lose. I downloaded the McDougall Maximum Weight Loss book today and plan to follow that. Thank you for this video. Your weight loss struggles definitely spoke directly to me. I also feel I am so hard on myself. During my recovery with my inner ear dizziness and watching my weight creep up really messed with my mental health. Now that I am healed, I feel so committed to following this new journey of mine. I've been vegan for 3-ish years, but with the stress of the pandemic and quarantine, I've been going HARD with the nut butters and vegan cheeses (peanut butter keeps me calm, lol). I've gained a bit of weight, and my adult acne has come back. I found your videos this week, and they inspired me to do a starch solution reset! Thanks for the lovely videos!
