San Antonio’s vegan food scene is getting bigger with the addition of a new plant-based restaurant, one that has a full bar.
Vegans and vegan food enthusiasts can now enjoy Verve Pie, a new eatery specializing in vegan pizza and ice cream. The restaurant, located at 3113 Schneider Drive in Cibolo, is celebrating its grand opening on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. with contests, prizes, DJs, and food deals. Yes, pizzas will be buy one, get one 50 percent off.
Even if you can’t make it out to the special opening, folks who stop by can enjoy signature pizzas like the Bianca, topped with pan-fried mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, micro herbs, and a balsamic glaze. Verve Pie also serves pizzas with plant-based meats like pepperoni and Italian sausage.
Your main entree can be washed down with any one of Verve Pie’s signature cocktails. The Scooby Snack is made with Malibu Coconut Rum, melon and banana liqueurs, pineapple juice, and whipped cream.
For dessert, the restaurant scoops up coconut-based ice cream by the float, bowl, pint, or flight. Flavors include lemon thyme, cookies and cream, salted caramel pecan, and more. There are even two cocktails – named The Friends with Benefits and The Side Piece – made with one of the ice cream flavors.

The team behind Cereal Killer Sweets is bringing more treats your way, San Antonio. C.K.S. Pastry House, a sister concept to the sugary take on the breakfast food, is now open. The walk-up shop will have a rotating menu that will depend on the fresh, seasonal ingredients of the week. Whatever may be up for grabs, expect a mix of sweet and savory selections. C.K.S. Pastry House is located at 1031 Patricia Drive.
There’s a new restaurant in town, y’all. Los Patios has a new tenant with the addition of scratch kitchen Gunslingers from chefs Stephen Paprocki and Adrian Cruz. Look forward to inventive dishes like sticky Thai coconut wings and a citrus honey Nashville chicken sandwich. Gunslingers will open at 2015 NE Loop 410 on September 1.
