I don’t want meat, I just want to EXACTLY replicate meat.
Worse chu shire or wooster shire
Id be pissed if someone invited me to a BBQ and this is what they were cooking lmao😂
Seed can be boiled or made in stew. The fibers is also used like pull pork or chicken. The yellow just eat as is as the God given fruit that it is. This fruit was brought to the Caribbean from Africa. The migration out of Africa folks brought fruits vegetables and animals worldwide.
Everything originate in Africa. Genesis
definitely does not taste in any way like pulled pork other than the spices, but worth a try
I prepared a ripe jackfruit (which this one is). It was hard enough but when I did the unripe one it was so much harder to separate the parts. Wouldn't try it again so would buy the canned stuff next time. However the ripe one was delicious but I wouldn't use it for a meat substitute.
Ide love to try that. Thanks for sharing. And wow that cooked doen to 2 sandwiched. Or just looked small and looked good have a great week. God bless
I didn't like it . Maybe if the jackfruit wasn't that sweet like a raw jackfruit it would taste better . I couldn't finish the burger so so sweet.
Could you cook it in your air fryer?? If so for how long and on what temperature?
I'm so confused by how many people are cooking the sweet yellow fruit rather than the white rags for dishes like pulled jackfruit. That's the best part for savory dishes IMO. Eat the yellow part as you would any fruit– it's absolutely delicious fresh… but don't forget about the rest of the fruit. Those white stringy bits are perfectly edible & delicious. They also hold up great to rubbing or marinating & baking/cooking. While you're at it don't forget to steam (or boil or whatever) the seeds too. You can break them in half & then mix in w/ your rag mixture or eat them as you would any other roasted seed or nut. There's so much more to jackfruit than just arils.
Im making this as we speak 🙂 my jackfruit is pretty young so no seeetness there. I hope it turns out as good as yours lol
I thought heard that you had to use unripe jack fruit for this kind of thing?
awesome brother you should come in Bangladesh get free jackfruit from my home I have lots of jackfruit
How do you know it "tastes just like pulled pork"?
Why are you calling it pork ?
I made this before and after following the instructions, everything turned out more gummy… the jackfruit stuck together in kind of a gelatinous mad and was not dried out enough to be stringy like pulled pork. The time before that, I made it according to the instructions but everything was burnt, save a 4 inch circle in the center… still was not stringy like pulled pork. What am I doing wrong and why is it burning instead of drying out?
Hi! Im a new subscriber! We have a Jackfruit tree! Im from the Philippines.
That sized jackfruit produced about 6 cups raw and maybe 4 cups cooked bbq fooled pork? Here it would be $18 per fruit, that's about $8 for 16 oz edible product, comparable to sliced coldcuts at Wal-Mart fyi.
Show us what else became of that jackfruit, seems like a lot of inedible waste…except for seeds you can roast or plant?
We'd cook it with brown sugar and get it caramelized.
I'm from Assam, India, and raw jackfruit curry is actually a local dish relished during May-June here. We also make pickles out of raw jackfruit. Jackfruit curry, when cooked with proper spices actually tastes better than mutton or so
I am from Kerala, India . We make jack fruit various forms and eat in different forms, from chips to jam.
Brother, I like the spatula sitting tight on the pan. That's pretty cool. Also a question: Do we not cook the white flesh of jackfruit? In India, we get it freshly cut and most of us cook the white flesh (along with the seeds). I am trying to achieve a pulled pork texture from the white flesh. So I roasted at 200 Celsius for 50 min then simmered away for a further 15-20 min in barbeque sauce in a pan, but couldn't achieve the desired. Can you suggest something?
You should take this video down. Might be causing ppl to waste a lot of good jackfruit following these incorrect directions
Production tip…background music is distracting while you talk…most cooking shows don't have shitty production club music bumping while talk.
"woostershire" ….. jesus
Use fruit thats not ripe
dude!! use a much younger jackfruit. You can make an amazing pulled pork with a tender jackfruit. What you used is too ripe
Is it a green or ripe jack fruit
so what are the pieces in the can. It seems like the canned jackfruit uses more of the whole fruit than when you prep it yourself. Any thoughts on that?
🇱🇰 srilanka also use this jackfruit
So $25 worth of jackfruit, and 2 hours, you can make 2 pulled "pork" sandwiches…..
It tastes and smells like juicy fruit gum lol
Looks gorgeous but damn whole jackfruit is insanely expensive. Also the butchering of pronunciation of Worcestershire sauce
Largest fruit in da world
4:30 I LOVE non-English people trying to pronounce Worcestershire XD 'Wuster shear' Love the video!
04:32…..sorry but it's pronounced, "worcester" sauce, the rest is silent.
Wusschestershire…..good try buddy.
I know it's spelt Worcestershire but it's pronounced wustersher.
If anyone wants a good April Fools prank, cut off the rags from the rest of the jackfruit and cook them as well. Looks just like pulled chicken lol. I tried to cook the rags alongside the pods (the fruit) but the rags tasted like nothing. And some had a chew that went on forever (don't recommend cooking the rag part of the jackfruit). Looks just like pulled chicken though I kid you not. If someone knows what to do with the rags and how to maybe soften them (young whitish color rags), I'm all ears!
Love this. But I have to say the music is so distracting
Excellent video…THANKS! …just concerned about cooking on aluminum foil…wouldn't it work on silicon baking paper???
Love breadfruit. My absolute fave. I have yet to be convinced to try jackfruit.
What's that weight in proper units?
Several issues: Tigers, notorious carnivores, love eating durian. If you slather anything in BBQ sauce, it will taste like pulled pork because pork doesn't have much flavour. If you're vegan, be vegan and stop with garbage "meat substitutes".
Lastly, it's pronounced whu-sta-shr not whoos-chester-shire, you unbelievable moron. That alone tells me that you know nothing about food or cooking and cannot be trusted.
And yes! You can find jackfruit in the regular normal people grocery store . .. . . if you're hallucinating! REAL FOOD, NOT MADE UP HIPPIE VOMIT.
OR you could just go get some pork and not be a meatless ass clown.
