40-80 for your body weight? , it’s not low protein diet! It’s about 1-2 gram per kg, more than RDA recommended. 20-30 grams per day, that is low protein diet in your case.
The body recycles about 35g of protein from the internal layer of the intestines that gets sloughed off every day. So you don't need to eat very much. If you're looking to grow, you do want a little more, but you certainly don't need tons of it. yuck. Great video!
Excellent! I too am high carb (fruit) low fat, low protein. Aka 80/10/10 raw vegan style. I'm super fit and in shape. My muscles are strong and I don't lift weights, just bodyweight and calisthenics and kettlebells hehe
I have a lot of weight to lose, I want to gain lean muscle mass at the same time. I thought I should eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight maximum of 250 grams. Is body re-composition possible?
I needed to hear this. I have a high body fat percentage even though I'm small. I used to have so much muscle but now I have the least I ever had. I struggle to get in protein. I just need to lift weights again or do something that makes the muscle work.
You're not low protein, for maximal muscle growth you need between 1,2 to 1,8g of per kg of lean body mass, idk what your fat % so i will just take your weight, 50kg x 1,2 =60g, 50kg x 1,8 = 90g,so you need 60 to 90g for optimal muscle growth, even less than that since you have to calculate it with your lean body mass… You eat 40 to 80g, so you are clearly not in the low range, the low range should be the WHO recommendation for MINIMAL protein needed ( not optimal for muscle building), so around 30g.
Today i watch moust older people in worlds(Italy) and what they eat the moust, they doctors who study life longevity in that part of Italy say that they eat high carbs low protein diet, and that high protein diet is bad in many ways..
Yay! This is the exact question I've been having! Considering going back to plant based.. but I'm concerned about protein because I want to keep my muscles and curves!
Thank you so much, really needed to hear that! Protein and all the hype is just a big thing to make money for the industry. Interessting and even better would has been if you show some picture from begining until now 7 years eating this way. Or even the different stages like where you did a lot of running and cardio (I remembered) where you did more HIIT and Yoga. I was a bit surprised as I was think Yoga still need a lot of strengh and muscels..
I have a keto friend who was consuming 250g of protein a day while I was consuming approx 150g and I gained more muscle than him(same training, same sleeping schedule) because he understood that keto diet lacks glucose, an essential part of muscle building

Thank you, protein is so easy to get and over estimated on what we need.
