Humans evolved to survive off of mainly animal fat during the ice age, seals, wild game, grasses, berries, seeds and nuts were hunted and gathered in most places. That tundra ice cap life was life for most mammals once they took the place of the dinosaurs. Just because people started to grow grains, beans etc. recently, means they were able to increase their bulk and not starve as the plant warmed up. These days what you don't want is only eat food you weren't adapted to eat. The only true way to know for Shure is try different things so you know what works and what becomes intolerable. For me keto is freedom and no you don't have to starve yourself. vegetables are unlimited. It can be restrictive and a challenge in social gatherings but there is a ton to learn. Not saying it will cure anything, but I feel better especially without all the hormones. That being said I don't eat dairy, not even butter. I do eat eggs. The main thing I want to say is don't stress to much over carbs, fewer calories and lots of exercise is how you lose weight. low carb is for the inflammation etc.
that repeating "hella heart healthy" made me think someone was in my house mocking debbie and me
Hello everyone am here to share with y'all how i was able to get rid of my hsv through the use of herbs🌿 from Dr okosun on YouTube, a herbalist, thanks dr okosun and God bless
Apparently, I need to watch this "What the Health" documentary. Is it true they equate eating an egg to smoking 5 cigarettes?! I eat 2 eggs every day! I just heard a speech by Dr.Beal Barnard who said that the recent studies that claimed dietary cholesterol doesn't increase blood cholesterol, we're almost exclusively funded by egg companies. Yikes!
Veganism is a very nutrient and vitamin deficient diet.
There is not one peer reviewed, double blind clinical trial that shows grass fed red meat is harmful for you. Not one. Most propaganda that drives the employees of dietary recommendations and standards are based on poorly designed epidemiological studies (basically surveys) which don’t differentiate between cured meat, charred meat, grass fed meat and other dietary habits.
The (whole food plant based) vegan vs not vegan debate is like climate change vs no climate change. On the one side: whole food plant based ad libitum eating induces weight loss, results in a healthy average BMI instead of literally other food group (the average vegetarian and omnivore is overweight), REVERSES type 2 diabetes (so yes, CURES), lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, reverses atherosclerosis, lowers the risk of cancer. On the other side: it's restrictive and hard and I don't want to give up my tasty food. Going vegan and going whole food plant based should not be conflated. A vegan junk food diet is worse than a flexitarian vegetable-predominant omnivore diet. But a whole food plant based diet is hands down the most optimal path. The research is NOT conflicting. Just because a lot of the studies are epidemiological, does not mean that we shouldn't be recommending the science. We also can't PROVE that smoking causes lung cancer, but we know it's unhealthy. Same with processed foods and animal products.
I hate how people eat dogs.
And cats
And cows
And chickens.

Vegan is healthy. Watch the above video to see even carnivores animals eat plants 🌱🌱🌱🌶💐👍
Abby knows all the facts yet still won’t go vegan. She uses her prior Othorexia thinking as an excuse which I think is just weak. What about animal rights Abbey? They are being slaughtered needlessly. That is not a RD issue. It is an ethics issue. Go vegan for your health, for the animals, and for the environment!
Veganism isn't so much about health although it comes with it it's about not using or killing animals.
Veganism is not a diet
Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
Yes being vegan like eating a plant based diet will reduce harm to the environment and is the healthiest way to eat but it has nothing to do with health or the environment.
Veganism is about animal liberation.
I think that saving money doesn’t apply to all the countries, cause in Brazil there are few plant based protein brands and most of them are expensive. Also because there’s a lot of cattle farms in the country, meet/chicken/fish is not expensive. It’s also really hard to find restaurants that have good vegan options, so you mostly have to cook at home
Tasty plant based protein ?? You must be joking.
Veganism isn't a diet. There are ethical vegans twice your age who have been vegan for thirty years and have no deficiencies. Adults walk around having been vegan from birth or toddler ages. You have ZERO authority to speak on veganism because there is no "vegan diet." Vegans can be raw, WFPB, balanced cooked foods with some treats, junk food city, or a mix of it all. ANYONE CAN BE VEGAN. Ethical vegans are less likely to have disordered eating than any other specialized way of eating (vegetarian, keto, whatever). You are a hack that eats multiple animals in a meal and sells carcinogenic processed meats to your fan base claiming you "meet people where they are." You are another tragic example of a greedy white girl influencer who is completely out of touch with reality. People talk to you adoringly like they do to Alyse Parker or Rawvana. That's a bad thing. It means youre a manipulator who attracts fans who are young, insecure, uneducated or stupid. Anyone smart enough to see through you falls off after three episodes (or less).

OK heres the deal. I was diagnosed with CAD and Ra in 2018. I found the Paddison Program for RA and it is an oil free plant based diet. It is the same diet Dr DeanOrnish and Dr Ess use for heart disease reversal. I have just been discharged by my Cardiologist as my blood lipd profile is outstanding and I do not take statins . My RA has improved to the point I have reduced pain am inflamation to 0 and have returned to work. Twelve months ago I could barely walk and had crushimg chest pains. Now at gym 5-6 times a week. I am not an ethical vegan and feel that eating meat in small quantities is not bad at all. But I do feel we have moved so far away from a natural way of eating to a diet of Kings and Queens and it is killing us. For me I am sering miracles in my health…but one thing we must avoid is oil! It is dangerous!!
Love your channel.
Love it
"Abbey found some research that vegans/vegetarians save at least $750 more than meat-eaters per year. " I need that research
The thing is, "what feels best" to a lot of people raised on a Western diet – Americans chief among them – is eating a shitload of stuff high in saturated/trans fats & sugar, fried food, and refined grains.
i've been vegan since the month i turned 16 (almost 20 now) and it was pretty much entirely for ethical and environmental reasons. i don't eat super healthy but i don't survive off oreos and chips either lol
Not Vegan, but I am vegetarian. I only find the diet to be restrictive If I'm eating out somewhere with my family that doesn't understand how to feed me. Also, I've found this diet to be a bit more freeing in many other ways. Often times when I didn't go by the label of vegetarian and I just preferred to eat plant-based the people I was eating with would ignore my concerns and continuously make chicken for me. Over and over again. I became known as someone who was picky about eating meat and would only eat chicken and fish. If I didn't want to eat meat that day It was seen as not only a hassle but problematic for my health. Now that I'm vegetarian my family at least lets me make my own meals which I heavily prefer and leads to a lot more variety…than just chicken.
I'm never going vegan.
Ok I am loving this video
You didn't mention that processed meat is a class 1a carcinogen. Vegans are the only dietary group that average a healthy BMI, is how you oughta phrase that. You could have brought up obesogens, estrogen, IGF-1, heme iron. Mutilated corpses, bovine mammary secretions, bird ovum, and bee vomit are not a fucking foodgroup.
I enjoy the diet Debbie vs Abbey the dietician series 💕
puts down paleo, keto and low carbs but sucks face with vegans….pretends to be objective lol
Thank you so much for supporting vegans in such an informed and nice way! You‘re amazing! Greetings from a fellow vegan from Germany! 😘
The disordered eating seems to be your personal bugbear. Research has shown that Vegans had lower eating disorders than Omnivores.
Vegans scored significantly lower than omnivores the Eating Disorder Examination: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28780065
Semi-vegetarians reported the highest levels of eating-related pathology; true vegetarians and vegans appeared to be healthiest in regards to weight and eating: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22343135
Anorexia in Vegetarians is used as a cover up for disordered eating in the majority of cases. Only 6.3% of those studied were Vegetarian before they became anorexic. This phenomenon of using Vegetarianism as a front for an eating disorder has been named Pseudovegetarianism: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3696039
Evanna Lynch, James Aspey and Bianca Taylor all credit Veganism for helping them overcome their eating disorders.
Type 2 Diabetes reversal:
Whole Foods Plant Based Vegan diets reverse Type 2 Diabetes: A High carb Vegan diet is better at reversing Type 2 Diabetes than the ADA conventional diabetes low carb diet of low: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2677007/pdf/ajcn8951588S.pdf
Air Miles:
The GHG emissions associated with food are dominated by the production phase contributing 83%, transportation as a whole represents only 11%: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18546681
“Even replacing food miles with a carbon footprint figure will only partly simplify the issues, a point stressed by Tara Garnett of the Food Climate Research Network. 'There is only one way of being sure that you cut down on your carbon emissions when buying food: stop eating meat, milk, butter and cheese,' said Garnett. 'These come from ruminants – sheep and cattle – that produce a great deal of harmful methane. In other words, it is not the source of the food that matters but the kind of food you eat.” https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2008/mar/23/food.ethicalliving
Iron and Calcium are easy as hell to get if you eat a moderately healthy Vegan diet. B-12 is supplemented or gotten through fortified foods. Vitamin D is a climate issue rather than a diet issue, the only major food source is liver a food that barely anyone eats, Omnivores get there Vitamin D mainly from supplemented dairy and flour, Vegans do the same getting it from fortified food, mushrooms or a supplement. And Omega 3 can be gotten from walnuts, hemp seed and ground flax or chia seed. It only takes a little competence and research to understand it.
Considering the benefits of a fully Vegan diet. The ethical question becomes, why are people still harming and killing animals for food?
Great video!
YES. I call myself a seasonal vegetarian. I typically don't crave meats in the summer so I don't prepared a lot of meat in the summer. I think everyone should have some great vegan recipes in their collection. I really like High Carb Hannah's recipes and approach to her vegan diet.
What about a video giving nutritional advice to vegans? Like how to get their omega3, calcium…. I think the internet needs that info coming from someone like you 💚
I wish you weren't trying g to be so vegan friendly and would talk about bioavailability and how conversion rates can be even harder with health and gut issues.
There is absolutely no proof meat causes cancer.
all you're favorite celebs? that's why you want to follow this diet…pregnant or not, you are a fatty sort of person…so whatever diet you are following isn't working.
Could you do a review about food combining?
Would love if you reviewed "Lilykoi Hawaii". I think she would do the vegan community some good 🙂
Debbie's damn theme music has been scorched into my brain. Thanks.
