Re: Iron. Thank you for clarifying Dr. B! We need to always make it very clear these mineral nutrients are not magical things made by cows! Only the earth makes iron therefore only 3 ways to get it: (1) eat dirt, (2) eat plants, (3) eat animals who ate the plants! Plus FYI – with the absolute trash they are feeding cows these days many of them only have these nutrients through supplementation. For Peteβs sake…EAT PLANTS!! π±
I am type 2 diabetic, former Chef, and vegan for a few weeks. Iβm eating very low fat, but made pasta yesterday and made an avocado cashew pesto. My blood sugars the next day after eating oatmeal went right up to 15.1 I hadnβt had a high like that for some time. Could it be the fats in the avocado cashew pesto that plugged up my cell receptors and thus raising my glucose the next day ? Thank you !!
Doctors: Stay away from carbs, go Keto.
Doctors: Stay away from Keto. Use a plant-based diet.
Who is telling the truth?
Great info. Chuck is starting to look like weeknd. Time for a trim.
I was vegan for 14 years, tried all tips above as well, and here's what happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLQ_HXkavnI
Omg Dr. Barnard is so on point! I actually been doing this advice way before I saw this video I had been abstaining from meats by not buying them and only putting nutritarian diet options in my house and that's how I was able to slowly convert over to do a nutritarian diet I also noticed when I exercise everyday it has been boosting up my immune system tremendously my skin glows my skin is more healthier everything is just been better now so exercising daily really helps boost up immune system believe it or not
Dr. Barnard is on point thanks for the tips
Drs are wrong. They fail to mention how much spinach you need to eat.
Oh Chuck, that man bun half sticking out… Pls let your lovely hair down…. it would be most interesting to see. Or do a Viking plait. π
How would you rate this Breakfast?
I Mix together. 1000 grams whole rolled oats, 100 grams Sunflower seeds, 100 grams pumpkin seeds, 200 grams Chia Seeds, 200 grams Ground Flax seeds and 100 grams Ground Sesame Seeds, 100 grams ground Poppy Seeds and 100 grams Desiccated Coconut
In a bowl I add 6-8 Dessert Spoons of mix with Β½ a cup of frozen Berries (any Kind, my favorite are Cranberries or sour cherries) 1 teaspoon sugar and moisten well with any non dairy milk. (I use soy)
I Refrigerate for 60 minutes to allow the Chia seeds to absorb the moisture add a little more milk and enjoy.
The question about osteoporosis I want to ad that if you take Vit K2 either d3+k2 or if you sunbath then only k2. Impact exercise promotes bone density but be careful talk with your Dr. and Personal trainer cause it depends on the stage of your osteoporosis, if itβs recommended. Its important as well, Vit. C and collagen as in bone broths or a good supplement. Good luck ππ
Hiya, I just watched Joe Rogan's show with Dr Joel Khan and Chris Kresser and as Chris mentioned at the summary of the podcast the most nutrient – densed foods (according to some noble research), with whole list of animal products on the very top of the list, foods like meat organs, shelfish or fatty fishes. Plant based foods like e. G beans or lentils have not even made to the top or close to it. My question is: is it possible then to stay nutrient sufficient on WFPB diet for years or lifetime when not consuming these animal foods at all? P.S. Love your podcast π You do excellent work so keep calm and keep on doing it ππ
1) Dr. Loomis called LDL the "bad" cholesterol. Maybe someday we'll be able to edit our genes so that our body doesn't make it anymore, because it's bad.
2) OTOH, https://tinyurl.com/yxbd8lrw "…low levels of LDL-C (<70 mg/dL) were associated with increased risk of CVD mortality, cancer mortality, and even all-cause mortality especially in men who were not treated with lipid lowering therapy." And, "…even though the association between LDL-C concentration and CVD mortality was U-shaped in men, the lowest levels of LDL-C concentration were significantly and independently associated with increased risk of CVD mortality."
3) Or, "An international team of experts has found that older people with high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) live as long, and often longer, than their peers with low levels of LDL-C. The findings, resulting from an analysis of past studies involving more than 68,000 participants over 60 years of age, call into question the 'cholesterol hypothesis' which suggests people with high cholesterol are at risk of dying and need statin drugs to lower their cholesterol."
4) When vegan doctors don't address these contradictions, I feel so confused.
Great video, per usual. This information will help a lot of people!
So happy I listened to this today. I have gone WFPB a while ago…Several years ago diagnosed with Hemochromatosis…so it sounds like I dont need to worry about my good having too much Iron. Woo hoo!
Summary – if you eat one egg a month YOU WILL DIE!
Come on ohio!!!!

How do I ask a question for future episodes?

Love the hosts hair!
I am so glad to have found you!
Oatmeal with blue berries, strawberries, some banana slices, some flax seed, 2 walnut halves and a little cinnamon on top is great for breakfast. A filling and healthy combination. Nutritious and good tasting.
Eating cooked oatmeal beneficially coats the intestinal lining, but do cold oats with non-dairy milk, such as muesli, have the same benefit?
Wonderful channel!
Yeah, I can't take that guy seriously with his "man bun." Come on, dude, take your job seriously and stop showing up looking like a circus clown. At least tuck it behind your head and not have it bobbing up and down like a high school cheerleader.
