Thank you for this video! A WFPB vlogger who works full time and does night shift…you are a unicorn lol! I wish I could say I’m used to night shift after 11 years, but it seems to just be a constant sleep debt. I definitely don’t recommend this to anyone else, but I tend to have a large meal for dinner (breakfast 🤔) and then not eat again until breakfast (dinner 🤷♀️) when I get home in the morning. My key to succeeding with healthy meals during my block (2 days, 2 nights – 12hr shifts) is food prep, always have a big batch of soup, a cooked grain and salad fixings ready to go. Love your videos 💕
I was a nurse for 27 years and worked nights on and off. It was before I was WFPB and I ate some pretty bad stuff at night , my resistance was always low when I was tired. I’d often stop at Del Taco on the way to work for some bean burritos to eat later, or take a frozen dinner, or even worse go to my hospital’s all night McDonalds, French fries are irresistible at 3am! Thanks for your work, and your wonderful videos!
This is very helpful to see how you make this work on the night shift. I can’t help but smile when you said “you do you”. ❤️
Bless you! ❤
I’ve had a myriad of factory jobs over the years. I rarely took food to work, because I could never decide what I might want to eat. I would eat before I left home and drink coffee and smoke on my breaks. I was the same I’d have naps in the day when working nights. I was going to suggest a sleep mask, until I saw your bed in the basement. It’s good that you only do a few days at a time, doing a week is tuff. 💝💝💝. I stopped smoking years ago, but not the coffee ☕️🤫
It was really amazing to see the food and sleep routine of someone who works at night. Decades ago I wanted to be a nurse but I was told that if I have trouble staying awake at night, I should not do that. It's awesome you have the basement for complete darkness during daylight hours. Health care workers are the unsung heroes of modern society.
Need more of these please. I’m struggling with the night eating. I find the longer I work nights the less they agree with me! I do two days two nights 7-7. I’m trying now not to eat a big meal around 2am any more, I’ve tried a larger meal at 6 and snacks but then it makes me want carby snacks and toast. I’m not a huge sweet oat fan. Night I’m going to have some rice for (breakfast) with mushroom, tomatoes, beans and lettuce. I have a Lara, banana, apple, and emergency toast and one of those just egg squares. I find 6am I start to get ravenous but can be my busiest time.
Just checking in again to tell you the sound on your videos is good. I enjoy your videos very much. Night shifts are the worst. I never got used to sleeping during daylight hours and ended up like you…an hour or two sessions throughout the day. Congrats on passing the 2K mark on subs. Keep growing!
Hi Courtney🤗 Aww yeah, night shift sucks but glad you don't have to do too many days of it in a row. It makes sense to have that extra little meal since you're not getting solid sleeps. I'm the same with coffee and enjoy decaff now. I have to get more of that riced veggie mix from Walmart – it's so convenient and tasty! You had me at "heels of bread" those are my fave all crispy and toasty 🥰😋
Food looks yummy. Never worked shift work…don’t envy those that do…and are very thankful for those that do.
Lovely to see what Courtney eats during night shift work. The food is yummy 😋 Love 🥰 the video and love 💕❤️ Courtney & family 👪.
