Thank you for this version. I am researching while just starting this Raw fruitarian ( ex carnivore). But felt vegetables felt important and I appreciate the ratios. Gives me an idea of how todo this.
I use my own brain. It tells me to eat an organically grown animal here and there.
For me to take the health advice of someone they have to meet the following criteria:
Have a MD or Ph.D and at the same time have received some type of awards, honors, inventions, patents, prizes. This guy has zero. A good example would be 114 year old Dr. Leila Denmark, she had good diet advice for over a century.
Do you use KNF to
Grow ?
I can easily eat and do eat five lbs of veggies a day.
I began watching you and other raw food YouTubers 9 or 10 years ago and followed about 4 or 5 for a year or two. You are the only oneI found to be rational and relevant and helpful. Thank you for your ideas and research and honesty as I continue to follow your channel.

Lots of great suggestions for eating a balanced raw food diet.
Thanks John.
Here's what nobody mentions. There's no way you'll get by shopping for fruits and vegetables once a week on a raw food diet, because your refrigerator won't hold that much, and that's just for one person. This means running to the store multiple times in a week. I don't know how many have noticed, but there's a huge supply chain issue going on right now, and it's only going to get worse. Unless you're setup like John with a beautiful garden in your backyard, it's going to get increasingly difficult to maintain a raw food diet. I suggest people start preparing for whats coming. Only way I know of doing long term storage for produce, is to invest in a freeze dryer.
For every 1 pound of sweet fruits averaging 300 calories, & 1 pound of vegetables having 100 calories equals 400 calories.
For a 2,000 calorie average daily requirement that's 5# of fruit, and 5# of vegetables. For Vegetables attempt to spread them into equal ratios of 5 types of vegetables:
*i. Roots, **ii. Stems & Flower [Celery, broccoli, cauliflower, Kohlrabi], ***iii. leafy greens, ****iv. non sweet fruits [tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers], *****v. sprouts & microgreens.
Juicing 4 pounds of vegetables can make 32 oz quart of vegetables, and eat another pound. Example is a juice base of using Romain Lettuce or celery and adding other vegies to that.
80/10/10. you're not getting 10% protein unless the majority of your diet is vegetables
Can you do some fresh veggie recipes? What do you cook? Or is it all raw?
Can fruit cause diabetes? I love fruit from organic bananas to blueberries and strawberries mango ect. I also like vegetables broccoli and cauliflower are my favorites.
LOVE THIS 🙌🏻
your just mad you dont have land to grow fruit haha. its about the water theirs no water in spinach why tf you eat that trash.
John – Nutrition is OVER-RATED. People should follow your recommendations because you are recommending an alkalizing water rich diet. Period. The emphasis should be on DETOX. Illness comes from the inability of the body to eliminate wastes which remain in the body that acidify creating INFLAMMATION and harden creating OBSTRUCTIONS AND BLOCKAGES in the way of plaque, cysts and tumors. We don't get sick from lack of so called "nutrition". Dr. Colin Campbell would go so far as to say focusing on individual nutrients is a scam as he does in this lecture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rprs8hEdrVc
Our bodies don't have the ability to fully absorb all nutrients UNTIL they are clean inside. You should talk more about keeping the body's immune system, clean and moving cellular wastes out of our bodies into our urine. This is essentially how our immune system wards off disease – through elimination and detox via the lymphatic system or the body's gigantic sewer system for metabolic wastes- as all of our body's cells consume and eliminate just like we do and storing their wastes for too long is the cause of disease. Focusing on individual nutrients is a distraction. The main focus should be about eating a water rich alkalizing diet to encourage the movement of the lymphatic/immune system to eliminate those wastes. Focusing on individual nutrients gives people the idea that as long as they take enough man made vitamins and minerals, they will be getting all the "nutrition" they need and then they can eat the way they want. This is the wrong message and the man-made vitamins and minerals are not recognized by the body the way they are when they are bound to other constituents and buffers as they are in food.
The pyramid SAD (Standard American Diet) I know is not what people usually eat. The actual SAD diet is a lot of fast food, packaged, processed, refined quick convenience foods. I do buy prepackaged salads which is much more available these days but when I was young I was fortunate to buy pints and quarts of raw juices from local stores. Country Fresh raw vegetables juice blends and raw fruit juice blends made with Apple a Day and their award winning fresh apple juice. Both companies had giant Norwalk juicing/press machines. I could even call them and buy gallons of raw vegetable blends juice from them through the local stores.
lets imagine ud live in a 7th world country with no electricity/no juicer (yea not even the ones that are operated with ur hand) – how much vegetables would u eat in a day then?
10 pounds total produce a day isnt very satisfying imo (i did like ~13.5 pounds for a while and it was VERY unsatisfying – felt like i was slave of my food lol)
great idea John veggies so important also to get in enough amino acid/ protein, and omegas, minerals, phyotonutrients also, without having to lean so heavily on higher fat plants
anyone else feel weird if you dont eat broccoli after a day or two haha
Good Video, I'm kinda motivated by it, but I feel you should make more video pertains how to make wealth
Thanks John. It’s easy to eat the fruit and frankly I can always do with the reminder to eat more vegetables. I haven’t gone the vacuum blender route yet as I have a new vitamix….maybe next year.
Would love to see a garden tour to see what your growing 💜
Wish my vegetables would hurry up I'm going to have to cover them tomorrow I get enough vegetables and animal fat and protein I have to go light on fruits because of sugar content unless I ferment them with my autoimmune it has worked out well with lupus everyone is different just got to figure out your body. Great video John 🙏🏻 ps I believe finding out where your ancestors came from helps in my opinion
