Definitely going to try this one. You had me at the squeeze of lemon juice. I would have used finely chopped spring onion instead of the parsley but that's just my schtick. Love your work
Hello ,,amazing recipe ,,just one question this lentil is done in that 15 minutes time ????,cause when I cook it takes a lot of more time than the rice
Hi Wil, I made the lentil rice and it was delcious. Couldn't find the sweet paprika what a bummer. However it came out ok. How do Corporate in learning to cook your meals for one person?
This is the first of your recipes that I’ve made and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. I’m excited to try more. Thank for presenting the recipe so clearly and artfully.
Firstly let me compliment you on your photography and the presentation, I'm sure it tasted as lovely as it looked. This is pretty much what most indian mom's cook on a daily basis, the only difference is we don't usually use Red lentil ( though gram lentil, is used) .We use split Mung bean, since this recipe is meant to be eaten when one is ill or doesn't want a heavy meal. This is called 'kichidi', which loosely translated means 'mish mash'. For best results use – either butter or ghee and not oil ( but that's fine if you're watching calories). It tastes even better with plain yogurt and lime pickle.
Watch this fantastic cooking video and decide to give it a shot asap. My family loves it and my daughters decided to take the leftovers for lunch in summer camp. I made a few Asian twists: use my Tiger Rice cooler for the last step, sprinkle sesame oil and scallions instead of olive oil and parsley. Also less chilli powder for kids meals.

This recipe looks amazing. Can you use green lentils instead of brown?
I doubled all the spices. Added half a green pepper, some cilantro, raisins, and saffron. Was great!

Thank you!!! 😋🙏🏾
I made it. It was delicious! Thanks 😊
Great recipe! Refreshing to hear a cook pronounce sauté correctly ie. 'soh-tay', not 'sor -tay'!
