Abbots Yard will host its inaugural micro-vegan festival, WNRT HRVST. Free to the public, the family and pet-friendly event will run from 12.00 pm-10.00 pm daily on August 20 and 21.
Set in the cosy surrounds of Abbotsford’s favourite urban oasis, WNTR HRVST will feature a curated selection of plant-based musicians and DJs, a mindful array of the city’s finest vegan food trucks, artisan market stalls and plant-based entertainment via the venue’s state-of-the-art shipping container cinema.
On the food-front will be a delectable array of vegan-street food guaranteed to whet the appetites of plant-based epicureans and meat-eaters alike. For the sweet tooth’s among us, Little Mylkbar will be dishing up their famous vegan smoothies and treats all weekend long, and for those who prefer savoury, music festival mainstay Dolly Bus will be onsite and ready to serve their consciously created comfort food in the form of chilli hot dogs and loaded nachos.

For something a little different, north-side foodie favourites Future Sushi will be plating up their 100% plant-based Uramaki, Maki and Nigiri delights, plus attendees on Sunday will be treated to Glou Melbourne‘s sustainable gourmand market menu featuring dishes such as Roasted Cauliflower, Fennel and Dukkah Foccacia, and a Dark Chocolate and Caramel Popcorn Tart.
Traversing the genres of indie folk, electro-pop, funk and alt-rock, a selection of local Melbourne plant-based musicians and DJs will grace the stage throughout the weekend. Here, the earthy blues and funk sounds of Caisha Sprout, the soulful storytelling of folk-rock songstress Maddy Petch and the expansive and explorative soundscapes of ere lo and Casey Martin will imbue the space with a sonic sensibility reflective of the festival’s conscious sentiment.
To top it all off, taking over the venue’s cutting-edge shipping container cinema throughout the festival is plant-based production company, ‘Eating Plants‘. Throughout the weekend, the collective will showcase their TV series travelogue exploring the benefits of a plant-based diet through six exciting episodes, introducing plant-based innovators and innovations from around the world.
